Description
The Void Reaver is the final boss in Hardcore Mode. It moves at an extremely slow speed, but it has an extremely high amount of health, higher than all other enemies in the game except the Nuclear Monster and the Primordial Drakobloxxer. The Void Reaver has many abilities that can stun towers, decrease your base health, destroy and kill units or increase its speed. It is one of the toughest enemies in the game.
Appearance
The Void Reaver wields a dark brown broadsword with a bright purple glowing crystal. It has black reflective skin, but its right arm is purple. It has dark purple curvy horns on its head and arms. It wears granite armor, and its chestplate is purple and grey. In the middle of the chestplate is a purple gem. It also wears a purple and grey glove and dark purple boots. Its legs are purple granite. It has a mask that resembles an African tribal mask and has six eyes.
When Void Rage is activated, it transforms; its horns, eyes and right arm glow pink. Its mask is destroyed. Pink particles are now emitted from its hands and legs. When Void's Deathwish is activated, it will put its hand slightly forward and significantly speed up.
Strategy
- The Ranger and Pursuit are recommended to deal with the Void Reaver as they are immune to stuns
- Air-based towers, such as the Ace Pilot, cannot be stunned by the Void Reaver.
- The Turret, Golden Minigunner and Accelerator are recommended towers against the Void Reaver due to their high DPS and ability to target the Souls that the Void Reaver can spawn.
- Turrets and Golden Minigunner can help with Souls if placed at the back, as they will not be hit by the Void Reaver's Void Slam.
- However, if the Accelerators are locked onto the Void Reaver, they cannot target the Souls spawned by them.
- The Engineer can be very useful due to its sentries having high DPS while also being immune to damage from stuns while their shield is active.
- The Void Reaver has extremely high health and becomes significantly faster during its Void Deathwish ability. This means that you may need to sell and replace your towers in the back.
- However, because of how income works in Hardcore mode, you will not earn any cash from damaging the Void Reaver until you kill it. Because of this, you may need to save some money to relocate your towers beforehand.
- The Gladiator and Warden can block one of the Void Reaver's attacks every few seconds.
- It is recommended to chain the Commander's Call to Arms ability to ensure that your towers are always shooting as fast as possible.
- Due to its stun immunity, Electroshocker and Warden can only slow down the Void Reaver instead of stunning it. Additionally, the Warden can only slow it down for a shorter time, because of its large size.
- Freezing towers like the Cryomancer or Freezer can slow down the Void Reaver with their chillness, though the effect will be weaker on the Void Reaver as it is a boss. It also cannot be frozen.
- The Jester cannot confuse the Void Reaver, but it can still slow it down with its ice bombs.
- The DJ Booth cannot slow it down, as it is a boss enemy.
- You can place a few Level 0 towers as a bait near the track so that when the Void Reaver uses its Void Slam, it has a chance to target that tower instead of your important, attacking towers.
- Do note that some towers that could have been useful for this, like the Farm or Military Base, cannot be attacked by the Void Reaver. Towers like the Commander or Golden Scout can be used instead.
- Spreading these towers can also greatly help limit the number of Souls spawned by the Void Reaver.

Trivia
- This is the second enemy that can damage base health without dying, the first being the Swordmaster.
- The Umbra, Ducky D00M and Mecha-claus could also damage the base health without dying. However, unlike the Void Reaver, they could actually decrease your base health to zero.
- Upon death, it collapses onto the floor with two hands on the floor and kneeling down. After a short period, it starts to dematerialize.
- This could be a reference to Thanos' Snap.
- This could also be a reference to Tower Battles' Void, which has a similar death animation.
- The Void Reaver used to be the second major boss that spawned twice in the same wave prior to the 23rd of April 2022.
- The first to do so was the Gravekeeper, but it was replaced by the Grave Digger.
- As of the 23rd of April 2022, the Void Reaver only spawns once at Wave 50 of Hardcore Mode.
- The Void Reaver's rage mode scream and death sound are the yell sound from Call of Duty: Black Ops II, specifically, the Zombies mode.
- The Void Reaver has the second slowest speed for any enemy in the game, with only the Raider Boss being slower.
- The Void Reaver currently has the second most abilities out of any enemy in the game, tied with the legacy Fallen King, Nuclear Fallen King and Nuclear Monster. This record is beaten by Ducky D00M that appears on D00M's Revenge.
- The Void Reaver had a different song that played on the final wave during Hardcore Testing BETA only. This was changed when it was added to the Overhaul Update.
- The second version of the Void Reaver's theme is a remix of Devourer of Gods from Terraria Calamity Mod.
- This was changed back in the Frost Invasion Update due to a copyright issue with the original creator.
- The Void Portal ability has the same sound as the horde sound from Left 4 Dead 2.
- During Hardcore Testing BETA, the Void Reaver had 600,000 health and spawned twice.
- Before the Entity System Update, if the Void Reaver used its Void Slam ability on a tower, the Soul spawned from the tower would be called "Tower's Soul" with the tower's name being the one that the Soul spawned from instead of "Void Reaver's Soul".
- Weirdly, the Void Reaver can still spawn a Soul from a non-humanoid tower. This includes towers like Turret or Ace Pilot.
- The enemies summoned from the Void's Portal do not have the Void Reaver's name attached to them. Additionally, all towers can also earn cash from them.
- The Void Reaver's Void Energy ability is similar to the Void Reaver's Nullifier Artillery ability from Risk of Rain 2.
- The Void Reaver's stomp shockwave is actually smaller than the legacy Fallen King's stomp shockwave, despite being stronger.
- However, its actual stomp radius is actually much bigger than the legacy Fallen King's stomp radius.
