Ability 2	Hammer - Throws its hammer at towers, stunning them for a period of time. Deals at least 120 damage to units.

Description

The Vindicator is a high health enemy that only appears in Hardcore mode. While it walks at a below average speed, it has an incredibly high amount of health. When it spawns, it does so with its Shield held up in front of it. This gives the Vindicator 5,000 shield health and a defense of 100%. This Defense decreases damage by 50%, the highest amount in the game, effectively doubling the Vindicator's shield health. However, due to damage dealt always rounding up, this is not always the case.

The Vindicator can also attack towers with its Hammer move. It throws its hammer at a group of towers, ricocheting off a couple before returning back to the Vindicator. This stuns any towers hit for a period of time and deals at least 120 damage to units.

Appearance

The Vindicator has purple granite armor. The armor has large purple pauldrons and glowing purple parts. It has reflective purple skin and black gloves. Its torso and legs are grey granite. It also has purple granite boots. It wears a purple helmet, wears a cape and has glowing purple spikes on its back. It wields a hammer which it uses to throw at towers. It spawns with a purple shield.

Strategy

• High DPS towers are highly recommended against the Vindicator.
  • You can use the Commander to boost the firerate of the aforementioned towers.
  • The DJ Booth can be used to increase the range of your towers, so that the Vindicator always stays within the range of your towers.
• Try to destroy the Vindicator's Shield as fast as possible as it gives the Vindicator high defense.
  • The Ranger is best combined with the Commander's Call to Arms ability so that the Vindicator's Shield is quickly destroyed.
  • Units from the Military Base can deal full collision damage to the Vindicator while its Shield is up.
    • Ranged damage from the units is still decreased to defense.
    • Do note that the Vindicator's Hammer ability can damage units.
  • Defense dropping towers, like the Pyromancer and Freezer can be very useful in reducing its Shield defense, allowing your towers to deal even more damage.
• Setting some Rangers to target Strongest may help defeat the Vindicator faster. Using Rangers is advantageous because it cannot be stunned by the Vindicator.
  • Be aware that this will allow some other enemies, like the Unknown, to go further along the path.
  • When the Void Reaver appears, the Ranger will target that instead of the Vindicator.

Trivia

• The Vindicator's hammer is the Mjölnir, the hammer of Thor from Norse mythology.
• The Vindicator is similar in appearance to the Fallen Titan as both have a purple color scheme and wield a hammer.
• Interestingly, the Vindicator with its shield has more health than the Grave Digger, but is not considered to be a major boss.
• The Vindicator is the only Hardcore enemy not to be present during Hardcore testing.
  • It was first present in a public beta test for Hardcore mode made few days before the Overhaul Update released. In there, it actually spawned as a Boss enemy, though this never made it into the actual game.
• The Vindicator's shield is a re-textured version of the shield from the Orinthian Sword and Shield gear from the Roblox catalog.
• A few Vindicators can be seen standing around the Unknown Garden map.
