Description

The Minigunner is a high-firerate tower that can be purchased from the store for 3,500 when you reach Level 5. It has a red torso, grey pants, yellow skin and carries a Vulcan M61 Gatling Gun.

Before Minigunner starts firing, it needs to rev-up it's gatling gun. It shoots bullets at enemies at a high firerate which is why the Minigunner is regarded as one of the best towers due to its high DPS and relatively cheap cost compared to other high DPS towers such as the Turret. Additionally, there is no limit for the amount of Minigunners you can have (bar the 20 tower limit), compared to other high DPS towers.

This is mostly considered a mid-game to the late-game tower.

Strategy

• The Minigunner should be one of the units that is placed down the most. Place them in a large group near the front of the track if possible.
  • Having a Commander, DJ Booth, or John nearby helps.
• Mid-game, several Level 3 Minigunners are effective in wiping out hordes of zombies for an effective price.
• If you plan to save up for this in the early stages of the game, you should have teammates with reliable towers such as the Soldier or Crook Boss.
  • You may also want to consider using Farms to get an early game Minigunner.
• While this is a cost-effective way to triumph maps, this is not the best tower in terms of DPS.
  • In terms of DPS and range, the Turret and Outlaw are far more effective. However, they are quite expensive and have their own limitations.
• Because of Minigunner's low damage, high defence zombies like Giant Boss or Templar decrease it's DPS significantly.

Trivia

• Before the 13th of October 2019, when the Minigunner was Level 2 or higher, its face changes from a smile to the Grr! face, despite the fact that the upgrade icon keeps the smile face.
• The Minigunner was heavily inspired by Tower Battle's Commando as well as Team Fortress 2's Heavy.
• Prior to the 8th of August 2019, the Level 5 upgrade was a jetpack. Functionally, it performed the same as any other ground tower.
  • Despite being a flying unit, the hitbox of the Minigunner did not change with the jetpack. They could still be stunned by rocks from Tanks and the shockwave from the Gravekeeper.
• Some of the features of the Minigunner were inspired by R2DA and R2D.
  • The Vulcan M134-A2 Gatling Gun that was used by most variants of the Minigunner was first popularized by R2D's Minigun.
  • The Wraith skin used to hold the P90 from R2DA.
  • At Level 5, the Heavy skins hold two M249s from R2DA.
• The Minigunner currently has the most skins for a tower, totaling 14.
