- "Were you waiting for me? How sweet of you..In that case, I will be sure to serve you well!"
- ―The Umbra dialogue on Wave 16 (Totality Tower)
Description
The Umbra was the final boss of the Solar Eclipse Event. It had an extremely high amount of health but it had a very slow speed. It had two abilities, one where it fired multiple arrows on towers, stunning them and an ability where it fired at the Star Cannon, decreasing the base health by 40. When it reached half health, it increased its speed significantly. The Umbra was also immune to being slowed down by the Toxic Gunner and frozen by towers like the Sledger or Freezer. Additionally, because of its energy immunity, the Electroshocker could only slow down The Umbra instead of stunning it.
Uniquely, The Umbra could be stunned by the Star Cannon. This also prevented the Shot of the Century ability from finishing.
Appearance
The Umbra had black skin. It wore a magenta chestplate and leggings, with yellow patterns on them. It had brown hair with ponytails. It had a purple crown with a headpiece which represents the sun on its back. It had glowing yellow eyes. It has a purple bow on its back that it used to perform its abilities with. During Blazing Rage, The Umbra would emit a red aura around it.
Strategy
- High DPS towers, such as the Accelerator, Ranger, Pursuit and Turret, are recommended to defeat this boss.
- It is highly recommended to use the Star Cannon to stun The Umbra, and may be necessary to survive the Shot of the Century ability.
- The Star Cannon is best used when The Umbra is about to perform its Shot of the Century ability, as it cancels it out and prevents the loss of base health, which could otherwise lead to a defeat.
- The Umbra will laugh before it uses its Shot of the Century ability. This can be used to tell when to use the Star Cannon.
- It is recommended for one player to operate the Star Cannon, while one or two players look for Charges.
- It is not recommended to use the Star Cannon when The Umbra is not using its Shot of the Century, as you may not have enough Charges when it actually does use it, causing you to lose health.
- However, if The Umbra is near the exit, you should use the Star Cannon to prevent it from reaching the exit to give your towers more time to attack it.
- The Star Cannon is best used when The Umbra is about to perform its Shot of the Century ability, as it cancels it out and prevents the loss of base health, which could otherwise lead to a defeat.
- The Electroshocker can only slow down The Umbra instead of stunning it. It can also only slow down The Umbra for a shorter amount of time because of its large size.
- Other slowing towers are unable to slow The Umbra down.
