Description
The Slow Boss, previously known as Boss2, is a slow and tough boss that appears in the Easy and Molten mode. It also appeared in the SFOTH Event and The Classic Event. Though the Slow Boss is slower than the Normal Boss and Necromancer, its high health makes it a considerable threat. Later on in the game, it will appear in large, mostly packed, hordes, causing many problems if you lack high DPS towers.
The Slow Boss can be spawned by the Mystery Boss upon its death in the Molten mode and formerly in the Easy mode. In Easy mode, the Grave Digger used to rarely spawn the Slow Boss. The Slow Boss could also have been spawned by the Swordmaster.
The Slow Boss was replaced by the Megatron Toilet in Headache Headquarters.
Appearance
The current version of the Slow Boss is a large humanoid with a waist, lower arms and lower legs in its rig. It has a desaturated dark green skin color and a light brown torso, waist and legs. It is faceless and is lightly covered in dirt.
The fourth version of the Slow Boss was a humanoid with a waist, lower arms and lower legs in its rig. It had a dark green skin color, and a light brown torso, waist and legs, which were all coated in dirt. It was faceless.
It also had two different walking animations, one for its Enemies Beta model, and one for any gamemode appearances after the Trapper Update.
The third version of the Slow Boss had a desaturated green skin color and a diagonal scar going across its face. It had a grey pebble torso and legs. It has green hooks on its torso and right arm and has large tumors on its left arm. Its torso occasionally emits green particles. Its head was slightly tilted downwards and it had a twisted left leg.
It made a dry roaring sound on death. The second version of the Slow Boss is similar to the current version, except it had glowing red eyes with a mouth closed by teal stitches.
The first version version of the Slow Boss had a dark green skin color and a dark grey corroded torso and dark brown corroded legs. It had a drooling zombie face with glowing red eyes. It also emitted green particles from its torso.
Strategy
- Many towers can be used to deal with the Slow Boss on its debut.
- High-DPS towers like the Minigunner and Turret are able to defeat the Slow Boss rather quickly.
- Stronger early game towers like the Golden Scout, Golden Soldier, Soldier, Crook Boss, Ace Pilot and Militant, when upgraded to higher levels are strong options against the Slow Boss.
- Later on, Slow Bosses will spawn in hordes, both naturally and from Mystery Bosses.
- Towers that can damage multiple enemies at once can deal lots of damage to such hordes, with stronger ones like the Mortar and Gladiator fully capable of defeating these hordes.
- Splash damage towers can be especially useful in Easy mode where it has defense, as splash damage bypasses defense, dealing full damage to the Slow Boss.
- Weaker ones, like the Demoman and Paintballer, will still need support from high DPS towers to defeat the hordes.
- Towers that can damage multiple enemies at once can deal lots of damage to such hordes, with stronger ones like the Mortar and Gladiator fully capable of defeating these hordes.
- Multiple towers can take advantage of the Slow Boss' slow speed.
- Short-ranged towers like the Gladiator are able to get many more hits in, making them more effective.
- The Military Base and Crook Boss' units will have more time to shoot at the Slow Boss before colliding into it.
- The Brawler on levels 2 and above is able to stunlock multiple Slow Bosses.
- Though not necessary, all stalling towers will work against the Slow Boss, and can slow it down significantly.
- However, the first Slow Boss in Easy mode is a boss enemy. This means it can only be slowed down by freezing and stunning towers, the Toxic Gunner cannot slow it down and the Jester cannot confuse it.
- Do note that the Slow Boss large size makes the freezing and stunning towers like Freezer and Warden less effective than usual.

Trivia
- The Slow Boss's current walking animation is incredibly similar to an event enemy's walking animation, namely the Snow Golem.
- The original name and appearance were based on the Boss2 from Tower Battles.
- When the Uber Mystery was in the game, it had a chance of spawning the Slow Boss upon its death in Golden and Fallen modes.
- In Hardcore Testing BETA, the Slow Boss had 10 defense.
- The death sound Slow Boss makes is a deeper sound than Boss2's from Tower Battles.
- The Slow King can be considered a Hardcore variant of the Slow Boss.
- Due to a bug, the Slow Bosses spawning on wave 29 of Easy mode were separated by an extremely long amount of time. Because of this, even without skipping the wave, the enemies would not have enough time to spawn, causing them to spawn on Wave 30 instead.
- Since these enemies would not count as enemies that spawned on Wave 30, you could have them spawn after triumphing by killing just the enemies that spawned on wave 30. You could reach zero base health after triumphing this way, but this would not make you lose.
- This was later fixed on 12th of March 2022, where the time between each spawn is now quicker, with each spawn being 2 seconds instead of 8 seconds.
