Description
The Shotgunner is a large and high health enemy that appears in Pizza Party. It has a high amount of health, decent defense but a slightly slow speed. It also has the Stun Immunity, which makes the Warden and Electroshocker only slow it down instead of fully stopping it and knockback towers cannot knock it back, and the Freeze Immunity, preventing it from being frozen or chilled.
Appearance
The Shotgunner is a robot that resembles the Level 4 Default Shotgunner. It has dark skin, black mask, torso, sleeves, pants, gloves and harness, grey headset and shoes, shotgun shell bandolier, shotgun shells belt and shotgun shell pouch on arms, and red button knee-pads. It also has yellow button eyes which are popped out of its head, wires protruding from the Shotgunner and a battery pack on its back.
On death, it will shake and flail its arms around, emit yellow sparks, and then power down, with the yellow light on its backpack turning off. It also plays a powering down sound when it dies.
Strategy
- When dealing with the Shotgunner when it first debuts, high DPS towers are best. Such towers include the Accelerator and Ranger.
- The Commander should be used to further boost the firerate of these towers.
- Do note that the Accelerator will remain locked onto the Shotgunner until it is defeated, letting other enemies get past. Other towers should be placed to deal with these enemies when using the Accelerator.
- The Military Base's Tank and Railgun Tank are quite strong against Shotgunners, as their collision and splash damage ignore the Shotgunner's defense.
- Later on however, stronger crowd control towers such as Mortar should be used instead of the Military Base due to Shotgunners appearing more frequently in later waves with higher health.
- The Ranger can be used, as in addition to dealing high DPS to the Shotgunner, it can counter the Balloon Kid, another enemy that appears in Pizza Party.
- With the Lost Souls modifier active, your high DPS options are mostly limited to the Minigunner and Golden Minigunner, which should be used.
- It is not recommended to skip a wave until the Shotgunner is defeated. Otherwise, the enemies from the following wave may overcome your towers while they are still trying to deal with the Shotgunner, with the Shotgunner acting as a meat shield.
- Later on, Shotgunners will spawn in hordes. Towers that can damage multiple enemies at once, like the Executioner, Mortar or Gladiator can deal lots of damage to these hordes.
- Additionally, most splash damage towers ignore the Shotgunner's defense, making them even more effective.
- Generally, however, these towers are unable to outright defeat hordes of Shotgunners, so high DPS towers should still be used alongside them.
- As it has a rather large amount of health and walks quickly, staling towers like the Electroshocker or Warden can be useful here, though a lot of them will be less effective because of its immunities.
- The Warden and Electroshocker can only slow down the Shotgunner, instead of fully stopping it.
- Freezing towers cannot freeze or chill it, as it has the Freeze Immunity.
- As it has the Stun Immunity, knockback towers cannot knock it back.
- The Shotgunner's defense can be reduced by defense dropping towers like the Pyromancer and Electroshocker.
- Freeze defense dropping towers cannot be used due to the Shotgunner's Freeze Immunity.
