Description

Retro Zone is a nostalgic map that is reminiscent of the starting days of the internet and early Roblox.

Retro Zone has the All Paths modifier, which duplicates most enemies that spawn.

Design & Path

Retro Zone is a map stylized in a synthwave, 80s design, with some objects being based in the 90s, early 2000s and early Roblox. It has a purple skybox. The map is surrounded by a giant black and purple checkered area, which is likely this map's water. A few objects, like a giant computer monitor, app window, head statue and other small islands can be seen in the checkered area, partially buried. The playable area has a checkered pattern on it, which depending on the location is colored pink, white, black and yellow.

The map possesses two paths, which are both separated from each other, with each path getting close to each other around the middle of the map.

Legacy Retro Zone is stylized in a synthwave, 80s design, with some objects being based in the 90s and early 2000s. The skybox is a light gradient between dark blue and light purple. Various objects that one might associate with the early days of the internet, like the old Windows box and blue screen of death, can be seen.

The path begins at an old CRT monitor that says "TDS.exe will now spawn zombies" and ends at the synthwave graphic. The path itself transforms as many materials and styles throughout the map.

Rewards

The game calculates how many Coin Coins, Gem Gems and Experience EXP you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 100% more Experience EXP (Friday – Sunday), any Experience EXP earned is multiplied by 2x through the XP Boost modifier. The VIP gamepass also multiplies any Experience EXP earned by 1.25x through the VIP Boost modifier. These two boosts are additive. Regular Experience EXP boosts are multiplicative with other modifiers present on this map.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point is rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Mode Coins/Gem Reward EXP Reward
Easy (Coin 250 ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 50 (Triumph Only)) × 1.1 (Experience 50 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])) × 1.1
Casual (Coin 400 × (Waves/30)^1.75 + Coin 50 (Triumph Only)) × 1.1 (Experience 75 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]) + Experience 15 EXP (Triumph Only)) × 1.1
Intermediate (Coin 500 ÷ (1 + [(30 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 100 (Triumph Only)) × 1.1 (Experience 120 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1])) × 1.1
Molten (Coin 650 ÷ (1 + [(35 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 100 (Triumph Only)) × 1.1 (Experience 135 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]) + Experience 50 EXP (Triumph Only)) × 1.1
Fallen (Coin 850 ÷ (1 + [(40 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]^1.3) + Coin 150 (Triumph Only)) × 1.1 (Experience 200 EXP ÷ (1 + [(25 ÷ Current Wave) - 1]) + Experience 50 EXP (Triumph Only)) × 1.1
Hidden Wave Gem 125 × 1.1 Experience 250 EXP × 1.1
Hardcore (Gem 100 × (Waves/50)^1.75 + Gem 150 (Triumph Only)) × 1.3 (Experience 300 EXP × (Waves/50)^1.75 + Experience 34 EXP (Triumph Only)) × 1.3

Strategy

  • The middle of the map is the ideal spot for towers, as it allows them to cover both pats at once.
    • Towers with high range, such as the Turret, Mortar, Ranger or Pursuit, are useful here, as multiple towers are not able to cover both paths particularly well.
      • The DJ Booth can help out by boosting the range of your towers.
  • Cliff towers should be placed on the giant spire, as they can cover most of the path from that spot.
