Description

The Reaper was a summoner enemy that appeared exclusively in Nightmare Carnival as part of the Halloween 2019 Event. While it walked quite slowly, it had somewhat high health for its debut. It could also summon Scarecrows, Ghosts, Mummies, and Strong Mummies, making it the Halloween equivalent of the Necromancer.

Appearance

The Reaper wore a black cloak and a black hood. Its head was reflective black and was faceless. It had white cobblestone skin, grey granite legs and a chain across its torso. It also carried a scythe.

Strategy

• High DPS towers such as the Minigunner and Outlaw are recommended against this enemy.
  • It may be ideal for these towers to be set to Strongest to target the Reaper instead of the enemies that it spawns.
  • However, this may be an issue when higher health enemies, such as Clowns and Frankensteins, appear.
• Splash damage towers, such as the Rocketeer and Demoman, are highly recommended against the Reaper as the enemies it summons form large hordes.

Trivia

• The Reaper was based on the Grim Reaper, a personified character representing death.
  • This was ironic as the Reaper can summon enemies, although these enemies could already be considered dead.
• A similar enemy to the Reaper can be found in Hardcore mode, the Fallen Reaper.
• This was the only enemy that could not be spawned by the Jack O' Bot during the Halloween 2019 Event.
