Description
The Pursuit is an advanced tower that can be bought for 15,000 after reaching Level 100 or bought via a gamepass for
1,500. The Pursuit patrols a specified area, attacking any enemy that enters it that it can also see in its own range. The area it patrols can be changed with its Patrol ability. It also has two upgrade paths.
Once an enemy enters its range, it fires upon the enemy that fits its targeting, hovering in the air while it fires at the targeted enemy. It only stops firing when all enemies are killed, or all enemies have left its attacking area. It then resumes patrolling its range. It has a limited amount of ammo which, when it runs out, makes it reload.
At Level 3, the Pursuit gains the ability to fire missiles at enemies, which deal splash damage. The explosion is separated into two spheres. Enemies in the inner sphere will be dealt 100% of the stated damage, while the damage in the outer sphere decreases linearly. Additionally, the Pursuit's missiles can damage Lead enemies. The Pursuit's regular attack can also damage Lead enemies from Level 1 onwards; it can also detect Flying enemies because it is an air-based tower. If upgraded to the top Level 5, it also can detect Hidden enemies.
The Pursuit is considered to be a mid to late-game tower due to its high DPS and crowd control capabilities, as well as its high cost.
The Pursuit has a placement limit of five per player.

Strategy
- As the Pursuit is an air-based tower, it is immune to all stuns. This makes it useful against enemies that can stun towers, like Unknowns, Boomers, Wardens and bosses.
- As it is also not a humanoid tower, it is also immune to icon debuffs, that being debuffs that appear as an icon on a tower, like the legacy Fallen Soul's firerate debuff or the Nuclear Monster's range debuff, though event enemies can bypass it.
- At Level 3, the Pursuit gains missiles. These can be quite powerful, as they allow it to deal damage to multiple enemies at once.
- If you want to use the Pursuit's missiles for their crowd control capabilities, the bottom path upgrade is recommended as it focuses on missiles.
- Due to their high damage, they can be useful at dealing a lot of damage to hordes of slow high health enemies, like the Fallen Giant or the Molten Golem. It can also do well against weaker enemies, like the Fallen.
- While it may not necessarily struggle too much with hordes of fast enemies, if they are spaced out in a way such that they are out of the range of missile explosions, this can cause some trouble as these enemies can quickly enter and leave the range of the Pursuit, especially if it is focusing on a high health enemy.
- The better buffs to apply to the Pursuit depend on the upgrade path you want to use the most.
- If you are going to use the top upgrade path, firerate buffs from towers like the Commander are recommended, as its main DPS comes from its guns.
- If you are going to use the bottom upgrade path, damage buffs from towers like the DJ Booth or Mercenary Base are recommended. As its main DPS comes from its missiles, which are not affected by firerate buffs, damage buffs are better here, as they can affect both the guns and the missiles.
- Both the gun and missiles of the Pursuit can damage Lead enemies and detect Flying enemies. This, combined with its high DPS, makes it very useful against these enemies later on during the game.
- However, the Pursuit cannot directly attack Hidden enemies unless it is upgraded to Level 5 of the top upgrade path. It can only damage them indirectly if they are caught in its missile explosions otherwise.
- Because of how expensive it is to reach Level 5 of its top path, the Pursuit is not recommended to be used against Hidden enemies that appear early on.
- Do keep in mind that the Pursuit has an ammo system, which means it will need to reload after it has depleted its ammo bar.
- The Pursuit's Patrol ability is very useful, as it gives the Pursuit effectively full map range and allows it to keep up with enemies that may escape from its range
- Do note that it does have a relatively hefty cooldown, though proper placement of it should not make this an issue.
- This ability is even more effective in maps with lots of loops like Polluted Wasteland II and Honey Valley as the Pursuit will not need to be constantly moved.
Trivia
- The Pursuit was teased on the 15th of May 2020 by BelowNatural in this tweet.
- The Pursuit seems to be based on the Heli Pilot from the Bloons Tower Defense series.
- Before its rework on the 27th of November 2024, the placement sound was taken from the Airstrike gear from the Roblox catalog.
- Weirdly, the gamepass for the Pursuit used to be called Helicopter instead of Pursuit before 15th of April 2023.
- The Pursuit is the first tower to have two upgrade paths, with previous towers having only one upgrade path.
- The Pursuit is the second tower to change the position in other maps without being sold, with the first being Brawler.
