Post Guidelines
The Post Guidelines are the post guidelines for the Tower Defense Simulator Wiki. It describes the purpose for each category of the discussions, explaining what posts are allowed and which are not. All rules listed on the Rules page still apply to discussions. The Post Guidelines are subject to interpretation and the final decision is up to the moderator. Moderators will not keep track nor count against you any deleted posts you might have.
The Post Guidelines were last revised on the 25th of February 2025.
Common Rules
- Avoid necroposting (posting on threads older than two weeks).
- Intentionally necroposting will result in a warning.
- Do not spam upvote (upvoting multiple posts or comments by a specific user in a short time).
- Avoid making posts centered around a specific user or specific group of users. The discussions should remain primarily about Tower Defense Simulator.
- If your post was deleted, do not make a post that contains "why was my post deleted?" Ask a staff member in their message wall or in Discord. Remember that staff try to help keep the wiki orderly though misjudgment is possible.
- As of the 24th of February 2025, a generative AI powered bot user is available at times listed in its user page. All Rules apply when interacting with this bot.
- Similar future projects will require staff approval.
General Guidelines
The General category is used for discussion about Tower Defense Simulator which does not fall under other categories. This includes talk about game mechanics, triumphs or upcoming features. A constructive post that does not fit this category may be recategorized if it is better suited to a different category.
- If you have a question about the game, check the wiki first before making a post. For example, if you want to know how much Minigunner costs to buy, first check the wiki. If you cannot find this information, you can make a post asking about this.
- Do not make posts that contain question(s) with answers that can be easily found on the wiki.
- Do not use this category or any other category as a way to send messages to other users. By making a post you are not guaranteed that the person you are trying to contact will answer you, as they do not get notified that your post was made. If you want to message them, make a message on their message wall.
- Skincrate unboxing posts are allowed, if the skincrate you are opening is fairly uncommon, such as Deluxe Skincrates or Golden Skincrates, or newer skincrates. Posts where you unbox easy to obtain skincrates like the Premium Skincrate will be deleted.
- Triumphs posted on this wiki should be significant. Triumphs of easier modes, like Casual and Easy can only be posted under these conditions:
- First victory.
- Speedrun with a decent time.
- Difficult challenges.
- Party Queue posts are not allowed as they clog up the feed.
- Often, the wiki is too slow in order to get a matchmake within a short timeframe. You may want to use the Tower Defense Simulator Discord server's #party-queue channel for this.
- If you want to party up with a particular user or specific set of users, contact the user(s) on their message wall(s) rather than in a post. Posts are visible to the entire community.
Community Guidelines
The Community category is used for discussion about topics not related to Tower Defense Simulator, but are related to the community at large. Posts containing information about the larger Tower Defense Simulator, Roblox or Fandom community should be placed here. Posts only relevant to or only about the user may be subject to deletion.
- Examples of relevant posts include specific events relating to various Tower Defense Simulator community members or changes to Roblox.
Fan Art Guidelines
The Fan Art category is used for art that depicts something that exists in Tower Defense Simulator, such as towers or enemies. This category allows any form of art to be posted here, such as digital art, physical art or models. as long as it is related to the game and does not break the rules.
- This category is for Tower Defense Simulator specifically. If you have art which is not related to anything in-game, it should be posted in Community.
- Art should show some form of craftmanship, proving that the artist had some form of design initiative and spent time on their work.
- Art that looks sloppy or poorly done may be considered spam and deleted.
- Do not post art made by other users.
- If your post contains art/models made by you and some made by other users, you must credit them.
- It must add something significant to the original user's creation.
- If you attempt to take credit for making it, you will be warned and then blocked if repeated as it is breaking the rules.
- If your post contains art/models made by you and some made by other users, you must credit them.
- You may want to put a watermark on your art to make it less likely for your art to be stolen.
- AI art is not allowed.
- Tracing is not allowed, though using references is.
- Realistic or excessive gore is not allowed. This includes organs or excessive amounts of blood.
- Art that contains shipping (pairing two characters in a romantic relantionship) is allowed, though it cannot show anything more than the characters kissing.
- Genderbent art is allowed, though it cannot be over sexualized (see the bullet points on suggestive art below this).
- Suggestive art is not allowed. Examples of suggestive art include:
- Borderline NSFW art.
- Suggestive poses.
- Sexualized characters. This includes very revealing clothing or over sexualized features within the chest or lower body area.
- Pregnancy art is not allowed.
Fan Ideas Guidelines
The Fan Ideas category is used for unofficial ideas for the game, like towers, events or mechanics.
- When posting a fan idea, make sure it is organized, tidy and comprehensible. Utilize spacing, punctuation and text styling to make your idea easier to read.
- For tower and unit concepts, you may want to add how much DPS it does. For most basic towers and units, like the Scout, Minigunner or Tommy Goon 2, it is simply calculated as Damage Ć· Firerate.
- For more complex concepts, like burst you will need different equations for DPS.
- You can also add cost efficiency, which is simply Total Cost Ć· DPS.
- Make sure that you list every important statistic that will affect how your concept performs in-game. This allows the community to properly judge the feasibility of your concept. If you leave out a couple important stats, you may be asked by others to add them in.
Stories/Lore Guidelines
The Stories/Lore category is used for stories about certain game elements, such as enemies, towers or maps. The stories here are not canon to the game.
- Stories must be at least a couple paragraphs long to be considered of effort.
- Non-prose stories must be of significant length.
- No stories that contain inappropriate or sensitive topics (sexually explicit content, politics, religion, real-life tragedies, etc.). Follow the Rules.
- A good majority of the story/lore must be in English, however text not in English does not have to be in English (such as for dialogue and some phrases).
- Stories should follow basic language rules and demonstrate basic story writing skill, such as spelling and grammar rules as well as simple plot development.
Strategy Talk Guidelines
The Strategy Talk category is used for discussion about strategies. This includes strategies you have made or talk about loadouts.
- Make sure your discussion has some sort of elaboration in order to facilitate debate.
- Posts that briefly compare two game elements will usually be deleted.
- Tierlists that rate the viability of certain towers are not allowed, as such posts are known to cause drama.
- Tierlists are only allowed if you provide verbal rationale for each ranking.
- Posting a strategy that you yourself have made is allowed, though posting a strategy made by others, such as for matchmaking purposes, is generally not allowed.
Wiki Talk Guidelines
The Wiki Talk category is used to report errors on pages or to suggest a new formatting style. It is also used for wiki announcements by Wiki Staff.
- Do not use the discussions to talk about a particular user's controversial behavior. Those types of posts promote hatred and discord.
Polls Guidelines
The Polls category is used for poll posts, where users can vote on two or more options. Poll posts can be posted in other categories.
- Polls asking which tower is better are generally removed, as they are overdone. They may be allowed if it is about recent balance changes made to them.
- Personal polls asking what a person should do, in or out of the game are removed, as you can decide what you want to do yourself.
- Poll contents should demonstrate a basic understanding of game elements and strategic knowledge.
- Multiple polls posted in quick succession will generally be deleted.
Memes Guidelines
The Memes category is used for memes about Tower Defense Simulator or the community at large. Satire posts can also be posted here.
- Memes should be original and funny. Though everyone has a different sense of humor, if it appears a certain type of meme is overdone, those memes will be deleted.
- Memes meant to take a stab at another specific person are not allowed.
