Description
The Normal Boss, formerly called Boss1, is a big and slow enemy, being slightly slower than the Slow with its modern variant, and having significantly more health than it. It is considered the first boss that you encounter in the Easy, Casual and Legacy Molten modes, with the former considering it a Boss on its first spawn.
The Grave Digger has a chance to spawn the Normal Boss with its Triumphing Sheol ability in Easy mode. The Normal Boss also has a chance of being spawned by the Mystery and Mystery Boss upon their death in the Legacy Molten mode. Additionally, Tombstones and Super Mysterys formerly had a chance to spawn Normal Bosses upon death.
The Normal Boss also appeared in The Heights as part of the SFOTH Event, in Cyber City as part of the Metaverse Champions Event and was part of the The Classic Event.
Appearance
The current version of the Normal Boss is a large humanoid that has a waist, lower arms and lower legs in its rig. It has a green skin color as well as a brown torso, waist and legs. It wears black spiked braces with chains attached on its lower arms.
The first version of the Normal Boss was a large faceless humanoid that had a waist in its rig. It had a green skin color, as well as a brown torso, waist and legs. It wore black armbands with white spikes.
The current version of the legacy Normal Boss has light green skin color, as well as a brown torso with tumors and brown legs. It also has chains wrapped around its arms. It has two scars on its face, forming a cross.
It makes a groaning sound on death.
The current Enemies Beta version of the legacy Normal Boss is a large faceless humanoid that has a waist in its rig. It has a green skin color, as well as a brown torso, waist and legs. It wears black armbands with white spikes.
The fourth version of the legacy Normal Boss is similar to the current version, except its skin was more reflective and vibrant, and it had a drooling zombie face with desaturated glowing yellow eyes.
The third version of the legacy Normal Boss had a desaturated green skin color, a brown torso with tumors and darker brown legs. It had a drooling zombie face with glowing red eyes.
The second version of the legacy Normal Boss is similar to the third version, except it a more saturated skin color, and its torso was colored dark green while its legs were colored dark navy.
The first version of the legacy Normal Boss had a desaturated green skin color and grey diamond-plated torso and legs. It had a drooling zombie face with glowing red eyes.
Strategy
- The Normal Boss has much higher health than the enemies that make their debut before it, so it is recommended to invest in additional defense before its debut.
- Most towers can deal with the Normal Boss fairly effectively.
- Almost any tower catered towards early game, like the Soldier, Gladiator, Brawler, Golden Scout, Militant or Golden Crook Boss is recommended.
- Stronger towers like the Minigunner or Golden Minigunner can fare pretty well if you are able to afford them, though they are not necessary.
- Later on, towers that can deal damage to multiple enemies are especially effective against Normal Bosses as they spawn in hordes. Such towers include the Rocketeer, Pyromancer and Mortar.
- Early on during the game, slowing towers like the Freezer or Cryomancer can help slow down the Normal Boss.
- As the first Normal Boss that spawns in Easy mode is a boss enemy, it can only be slowed down by freezing and stunning towers, and it cannot be slowed down by the Toxic Gunner.
