Neuro Runner has been removed from the game as of the 20th of November 2024 as it was part of the Hexscape Event.
This page has been preserved for historical purposes.

Description

The Neuro Runner was a fast enemy that appeared relatively early on in Failed Gateway as part of the Hexscape Event. It also appeared in Containment, though only when summoned by Corrupted Titus. It had a fair amount of health for its debut, high defense and a fast speed, making it a dangerous enemy to unprepared defenses. Additionally, it had Freeze Immunity and Stun Immunity, making it harder to slow down.

Appearance

The Neuro Runner was a wooden construct with a brown body, though the ends of its legs were made out of metal scraps. It had dark brown shirt and pants, alongside even darker gloves. It also had multiple dark brown bandages around its gloves. It wore multiple pieces of grey metal armor, knee-pads, armbands, chestplate and armor around the gloves, with some of them having spikes. On its back, it had an energy pack which lead to an energy core located on its chestplate, which gave it its speed. It also had a metal head piece with wires and a lens on its head and a grey metal face mask.

Strategy

  • The Neuro Runner can be defeated using stronger towers like the Golden Soldier, Soldier, Crook Boss or Brawler.
    • These also often spawn in groups, accompanied by multiple Aggro enemies. Having some towers in the back may be needed in cases where Aggro enemies make Neuro Runners run out of your tower's ranges.
  • The Neuro Runner is immune to being slowed down by freezing towers or frozen by them and can only be slowed down by the stunning towers like the Electroshocker, making it harder to slow down.
    • The Toxic Gunner is not affected by any of its immunities and has a pretty long poison time and quite cheap to afford, making it a decent option, especially when set to Random to slow down as many as possible.
      • It can also be pretty effective at dealing damage.
    • As Stun Immunity also prevents enemies from being knocked back, towers like the Brawler cannot be used to slow it down.
  • Its defense can be reduced by towers like the Pyromancer or Trapper, however, it cannot be reduced by the freezing towers due to its Freeze Immunity.
