Description

The Necromancer King, internally referred to as the Summoner2 and formerly known as Necromancer Boss, which is also the name for its legacy version, is a summoner enemy that appears in Polluted Wasteland II. It has a very high amount of health, higher than all enemies that appeared before it, and an above average speed, faster than the Templar. It also has one ability, where it will spin its staff, summoning five Cursed Skeletons. Unlike the Necromancer, its underling counterpart, it does not pause to summon enemies, making it more threatening. It also has the freeze Immunity, making it harder to slow down. Additionally, it has a Stun Immunity, which makes it only be slowed down instead of stunned by towers like the Warden and Electroshocker, it is also not knocked back by knockback towers.

The Necromancer King replaces the Summoner Boss in any map with the Enemies Beta modifier active.

Appearance

The Necromancer King has a desaturated dark green skin color and a black torso, legs, sleeves and cape. Some of its head is missing skin, revealing its skull. It has grey metal shoulder-pads that resemble skulls with a purple interior and a grey metal neck-guard, with purple gems decorating it. It also wears a crimson leather belt with a purple crystal and a metal crown with multiple diamond shaped crystals on them. It wields a brown wooden staff with a metal base, which has a gem, and a skull on top, which has light red streaks on it. It uses this staff to summon Cursed Skeletons. It also emits purple particles.

Strategy

  • Deal with this enemy as soon as possible. Leaving the Necromancer King alive for too long will allow it to summon a vast amount of Cursed Skeletons.
  • The Ranger, Accelerator, Minigunner and Turret are great at dealing with the Necromancer King and the Cursed Skeletons it summons.
    • You may want to set these towers to Strongest to ignore the enemies that the Necromancer King spawns.
    • You can boost the firerate of these towers with the Commander's Call to Arms ability whenever the Necromancer King spawns.
  • Crowd control towers, such as the Rocketeer or Mortar, can be great at dealing with the Cursed Skeletons the Necromancer King summons.
    • They can also be useful at dealing damage to the Necromancer King. Do note, however, that these towers do not have enough DPS to deal with the Necromancer King on their own.
  • Do note that you do not earn any money from the summoned enemies.
  • Because of the Necromancer King's immunities, freezing towers like the Freezer, Frost Blaster and Sledger cannot freeze or slow it down.
    • Stunning towers like the Electroshocker can only slow it down instead of stunning it while knockback towers like the Brawler cannot knock it back. Additionally, the Warden will slow it down for a shorter amount of time because of its size.
