Description
The Necromancer Boss is a high health summoner enemy which only appears in Hardcore mode. It behaves similar to the Mystery Summoner and Summoner Boss, as it spawns Mysteries and Mystery Bosses with its staff. With the Enemies Beta modifier active, it spawns Breaker2s and Breaker4s. However, this enemy spawns between 8-10 Mysteries/Breaker2s and Mystery Bosses/Breaker4s, causing huge problems if left alone for too long.
Appearance
The Necromancer Boss has reflective black skin. It wears a unique reflective purple fade cloak. Its torso and pants are also reflective purple fade. The Necromancer Boss wears a reflective white skull mask, and it has pink glowing eyes. It wears a reflective purple fade top hat with two small white horns on on the front. It also wields a spiked stone staff that emits purple flame at the end. When summoning enemies, the flame emits purple particles.
Strategy
- Due to its high health and enemies it spawns, the Necromancer Boss must be dealt with as soon as possible.
- If the Necromancer Boss is left alive for too long, it can create a huge army of Mysteries and Mystery Bosses, or a huge army of Breaker2s and Breaker4s, so it is recommended to deal with the Necromancer Boss quickly.
- This is especially noticeable on long maps such as Marshlands and Four Seasons.
- High DPS towers, such as the Ranger and Turret are recommended against the Necromancer Boss.
- Rangers having their targeting set to Strongest can deal massive damage to the Necromancer Boss, combined with the Commander's Call to Arms ability.
- Do be aware of enemies like the Fallen Swordmaster distracting Rangers if they are set to Strongest.
- Turrets can deal with the enemies spawned from the boss, as its damage and firerate can defeat all of the enemies spawned.
- Minigunners can also quickly deal with the summoned enemies.
- The Accelerator can lock onto the Necromancer Boss, though summoned enemies from the Necromancer Boss can get past multiple Accelerators.
- Rangers having their targeting set to Strongest can deal massive damage to the Necromancer Boss, combined with the Commander's Call to Arms ability.
- The enemies spawned by the Necromancer Boss' minions may prove troublesome, such as the Circuit and the Speedy King, which can speed up nearby enemies, leading to multiple fast enemies leaking through.
- You can play on a map with the Enemies Beta modifier to ensure this does not happen, as Mysteries and Mystery Bosses are replaced by Breaker2s and Breaker4s in those maps.
- If the Necromancer Boss is left alive for too long, it can create a huge army of Mysteries and Mystery Bosses, or a huge army of Breaker2s and Breaker4s, so it is recommended to deal with the Necromancer Boss quickly.
- Towers that can deal damage to multiple enemies, such as the Engineer, Executioner or Golden Pyromancer, can be great at dealing with enemies summoned by the Necromancer Boss.
- Units from the Military Base can deal with the Necromancer Boss, through their collision.
- Freezing towers and the Warden can be used to slow this down, however because of its large size they only freeze or stun it for a shorter amount of time compared to an average-sized enemy.
Trivia
- The appearance and name of the Necromancer Boss is similar to one of the variants of the Necromancer Boss from Tower Battles.
- The Necromancer Boss has a death animation where it holds its hand to its heart, trembles violently, and falls to the ground.
- Prior to the Entity System Update, enemies summoned by the Necromancer Boss were uniquely temporarily immune to damage.
