Description

The Necromancer was a summoner enemy that had the ability to spawn enemies every five seconds, which only appears in Legacy Molten mode. The enemies it can spawn are the Hidden, Slow, Speedy and Normal, which are mainly used to focus towers away from the Necromancer. These summoned enemies do not give money when damaged.

The Necromancer is slightly slower than the Slow and has the same speed as the Slow Boss. The Necromancer can be spawned by the Mystery Boss upon its death in Legacy Molten mode. The Necromancer also appeared in The Heights as part of the SFOTH Event. It could have been spawned by the Swordmaster.

Appearance

The current version of the Necromancer has grey skin, a twisted left leg and walks hunchbacked. It is faceless with pink glowing eyes. It wears a black cloak and its torso and legs are wool black. It has grey diamond-plated shoes and chains are wrapped around its arms. It has two large black shoulder-pads and a black hood. It holds a summoning staff with a purple orb on top.

The third version of the Necromancer is similar to the fourth version, except it had a drooling zombie face with pink glowing eyes.

The second version of the Necromancer had a ripped black cloak. It has grey skin, glowing blue eyes and a drooling zombie face. It was slightly taller than the Normal Boss. Its torso was grey, had black legs, black sleeves, grey skull shoulder-pads with black eyes and a brown hood. It wielded a staff that summoned enemies.

The first version of the Necromancer had grey skin, glowing blue eyes and a drooling zombie face. Its torso and legs were black, had black sleeves, grey skull shoulder-pads and a brown hood. It wielded a green skull staff that summoned enemies.

Strategy

As this enemy no longer appears naturally, strategy for its most recent intentional appearance will be listed instead.

  • The Necromancer spawns many enemies, making splash damage towers, such as the Demoman, Mortar and Rocketeer, pretty effective against the Necromancer and the enemies that are summoned.
    • If the Necromancer can get past your main towers, and there are no defenses near the end of the path, these enemies can reduce your base health significantly.
  • Multiple early-game towers that deal high DPS, like the Militant, Crook Boss or Cowboy, can easily kill the Necromancer.
    • You can also save up money for a mid-game tower, like the Ranger and Minigunner.
      • These towers can be set to Strongest to attack the Necromancer first, but this may risk summoned enemies getting past your defenses.
  • The Gladiator can be quite useful against the Necromancer as it can kill the enemies that spawn, as well as damaging the Necromancer at the same time.
  • The summoned enemies do not give money when damaged.
