Description

The Molten Monster, called Experiment #32 on Outpost 32, is a unit that can be spawned by the consumable of the same name. It also used to be spawned on Outpost 32 on Wave 40 of the Hard difficulty and Wave 25 of the Easy difficulty while that map was still in the game. As with other units, it starts from the end of the map path and moves towards the entrance of the map. In Outpost 32, it would always start on the middle path.

The Molten Monster has two attacks. The first is its fireball attack, which makes it fire a fireball at an enemy in its range of 50, dealing 2,500 damage to them in a large explosion and setting them all on fire. This has no damage drop off but it does not bypass defense. Its second attack is a swipe which deals 1,000 damage to all enemies in its swipe range of 12. It attacks enemies in a circular sector, dealing damage to them all and setting them all on fire. Its burn deals 500 damage every 1 second for 5 seconds, making it deal 2,500 damage total. This also drops enemy defense by 15% every tick, reducing it by up to 50%. None of its attacks actually damage Lead enemies, though its burn and collision damage is able to damage them. It can also detect Flying enemies, though it is unable to detect Hidden enemies. The Molten Monster cannot be frozen.

Appearance

The Molten Monster is a bipedal beast with a glowing reddish-orange interior and a metallic-looking skeletal exterior. It bares long claws on its hands and feet. It has a ribcage around its torso, which is connected to its skinny hind legs. It has shoulder plates that resemble human skulls. Its back is covered in long spikes. Its head resembles a goat skull, though it has a distinct lack of eyes and multiple twisting horns. Behind the beast is a humanoid wearing a welding mask that is struggling to pull it back with two long chains.

Strategy

  • Because of its high health, high damage per second and it only being usable once during a match, this is recommended to be only used against high health enemies, such as the Fallen King.
  • The Molten Monster can be summoned to deal with enemies that the current towers on the map cannot handle. However, it is recommended to not summon it too early as it will despawn if it eventually reaches the entrance of the map.
