Description[]

Logbooks are books randomly dropped from enemies upon their death. For enemies that have death animations, it is not required to wait until their death animation ends. Once collected, the enemy will be added to the Index, where its model, animation, default health, default speed and description, if it has any, will be displayed. The books stay on the ground and do not disappear.

The chance of a Logbook dropping is a range of 0.9% to 15%, which increases with enemy health. The range starts at 1 health, where enemies have a 0.9% chance to drop a Logbook, and ends at 100,000 health, where enemies have a 15% chance to drop a Logbook. Health past 100,000 has no effect on the chance. If a Logbook has not appeared in 60 enemy kills, the Logbook for that enemy will be forced to spawn, regardless of chance[1]. Chance of a Logbook being dropped can be boosted with the Scholar Skill.

It does not matter what player killed or damaged the enemy, as kills from any player can generate Logbooks. Furthermore, if an enemy reaches the end of the map (or damages the outpost barrier health in Outpost 32) and does not result in a lost match, that would count as a kill that can generate a Logbook. Additionally, all kills in PVP Test do not contribute towards Logbooks either.

Enemies that have a second phase which changes the display name of the enemy are counted as the same enemy for Logbooks. This includes the Awakened Fallen King (which is the second phase of the Fallen King), the Reanimated (which is the second phase of the Abomination) and the Lower Body (which is the second phase of the Splitter, but the Split is a unique enemy).

Sandbox Unlocks[]

Once obtained, players are allowed to spawn in the said enemy inside of Sandbox mode, including enemies which are normally not able to be summoned there, even with the Admin Mode.

If an enemy Logbook shares an exact internal name with a legacy or modern counterpart, then both enemies will be available to spawn into Sandbox mode, though legacy enemies require the use of Admin Mode. For example, collecting the Frost Spirit Logbook from the Operation I.C.E Event would allow you to spawn the Frost Spirit from the Frost Invasion Event. However, collecting the Ducky D00M III Logbook does not allow you to spawn the Ducky D00M variants from the Spring 2020 Event or Duck Hunt Event as it does not share an exact name to those enemies. Some enemies may have the same display name as removed enemies, however, due to them having a different internal name they will not unlock that enemy. For example, the Knight from Pizza Party will not unlock the Knight from the Solar Eclipse Event, as the one from Pizza Party is internally actually called Knight Plush and not just Knight.

Enemies that have been removed from the game or replaced by another enemy cannot be sent, even if they share the same internal name. For example, collecting the Brute Logbook will not unlock the Brute from SFOTH Event, as it has been removed from the game. Similarly, unlocking the Frost Hero from the Operation I.C.E Event only unlock the Frost Invasion Event, not any of the older versions.

Logbook Exclusive[]

The following is a list of enemies which requires collecting the Logbook, even with the Admin Mode gamepass purchased, before spawning independently in Sandbox Mode:

Trivia[]

  • Every Logbook displays a different enemy as the image, however the Logbook's model itself will never change.
  • Due to a glitch, each Logbook would show a Gem Gem icon instead of a Logbook icon when picked up. A Logbook did not reward players with Gem Gems, duplicate or otherwise. This was patched in the v1.47.0 update and now correctly displays the Logbook icon.
  • The Logbook is heavily inspired by Risk of Rain 2's own Logbook as the UI and the method of getting it is very similar.

Notes[]

  1. ↑ If there is an update which changes the amount of kills required for a guaranteed Logbook drop, all enemy kills are reset for that update. For example, when v1.52.0 updated the amount of enemy kills for a guaranteed Logbook from 20 to 60, all enemy kills were reset.
