Description

The Militant, formerly known as John, is an intermediate tower that costs Coin 1,500 to buy from the store, but can also be obtained by purchasing the Starter Bundle. It could also be obtained by a now expired code.

The Militant deals low damage, but has a fast firerate. Additionally, it has a very long range, allowing it to cover large amounts of the track. It is however, quite expensive to upgrade.

The Militant is considered an all round tower.

Strategy

  • The Militant's high DPS and low cost make it very viable to use early on during the game. It can also be very useful mid to late-game.
    • Early on, you can place multiple Level 1 Militants, due to their high DPS, high range and hidden detection.
      • Later on during the game, they should be upgraded to Level 3.
    • Later on during the game, the Commander can be very useful at increasing its DPS, making it quite useful late-game.
  • The Militant can be quite effective against hidden enemies like the Hidden Boss due to its cheap hidden detection and decent DPS.

Trivia

  • When the game was in Alpha, John's upgrade stats were not displayed on its upgrade description. It was simply referred to as "swager21".
    • It was the only tower that did not include the word "sans" in its upgrade description.
  • This tower used to be redeemable with the now expired code: J0HNRBX.
  • The Militant (when it was originally called John) had an ability called Gorilla Sounds which increased the damage of most towers within its range by 30%. This lasted 10 seconds and had a 30 second cooldown.
  • This tower was originally dedicated to YouTuber JOHN ROBLOX.
    • Before the addition of this tower, the Paintballer was considered John's tower.
    • The Enraging Shout ability was based on various noises that he would make in his videos.
  • The Enraging Shout ability (now removed) would play various sound effects, with some skins having their own specific sound effects.
    • The regular Enraging Shout sound was voiced by YouTuber JOHN ROBLOX. There were four lines:
      • "Oh you think you're hard, you think you're hard ya dumb old zombies, shred em, shred em, shred em, shred!"
      • "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! with a screm at the end.
      • Sounds resembling that of a gorilla, specifically one going "oo-oo-oo" repeatedly.
      • "Yeah, get em, get em, get em, yeah, yeah, get em!"
    • The Pumpkin skin for Militant had two sound effects, both of which are laughs.
    • The Ace Pilot skin for Militant had one sound effect that was only used during Hardcore Testing, prior to that it did not play anything. The one line was:
      • "kakugo surun yo"
        • In English, it translates to "Ya better be prepared!".
        • This is a reference to JOHN ROBLOX's video, zerotwo but in roblox, although the actual sound effect comes from the anime Macross Delta.
  • The Militant still uses John upgrade icons from Hardcore Testing BETA, even though its design has been changed.
  • The Militant was the only tower that used a reloading system.
