Description
The Jester is an exclusive tower previously obtainable by triumphing the third act of the Lunar Overture Event. It could also have been obtained through a limited-time gamepass for 750 during Lunar Overture Event. It can currently be bought for
799 for a limited time.
The Jester is a tower mostly based around debuffs. It throws a bomb at enemies, two at Level 4, which can be configured to apply one of the four debuffs it can apply to enemies. Most of these bombs also deal splash damage, which makes them able to deal damage to lead enemies. However, unlike most other splash towers, the Jester's splash damage is always the same, regardless of how far away the enemy is from the center. Additionally, the Jester's bombs do not ignore defense and can only hit five enemies. The first is the fire bomb, which sets enemies on fire. The second bomb is the ice bomb, which is unlocked at Level 2. It slows down enemies by 30% for 2 seconds, which stacks up to 60% and deals half as much damage as the fire bomb. The third bomb is the poison bomb, unlocked at Level 3. It creates a puddle of acid, which damages enemies and decreases their defense. The puddle lasts for 10 seconds. It can decrease up to 50% of an enemy's defense. Additionally, it does not deal splash damage. The fourth and final bomb is the confusion bomb, unlocked at Level 4. This bomb causes the enemies to walk towards the entrance for 2 seconds, with an 8-second cooldown before it can be reapplied on an enemy; however, boss enemies will not be affected by the confusion. It deals half as much damage as the fire bomb. The Jester has hidden detection at Level 3.
The Jester is considered an all-round tower, as its cheap cost means it can be used early on to defend, while in mid and late-game multiple of its bombs can be used to effectively clear out hordes or to weaken enemies, by slowing them down or reducing their defense.
The Jester has a placement limit of eight per player.

Strategy
- The Jester has four bombs that have unique effects on enemies.
- The fire bomb deals burn damage, which is half of the Jester's damage, rounded up.
- The ice bomb slows down enemies, though its damage is reduced by half.
- The poison bomb, instead of exploding, creates a poisonous puddle that damages enemies and reduces defense. Damage is 30% of the Jester's damage, rounded up.
- The confusion bomb causes non-boss enemies to go towards the entrance instead of the exit, though its damage is reduced by half.
- If the bomb for a slot is changed, the Jester will not change the bomb or bombs it is currently holding until it throws them. The Equip Bombs ability can be used to make the Jester change its bombs instantly.
- While the Jester can indirectly hit flying enemies with its explosions, this should not be completely relied on, and you should use other flying detecting towers instead.
- The Jester, for most bombs, is a splash damage tower, allowing it to deal damage to lead enemies.
- Poison bombs can be quite good against crowds, as their poisonous puddles can deal a lot of damage when stacked.
- It can also decrease up to 50% of an enemy's defense through its poisonous puddles, making it very useful against enemies with high defense.
- It is best to place down multiple Jesters with poison bombs if you plan to use them for reducing defense, as multiple puddles can affect enemies at the same time, reducing defense and dealing damage much quicker.
- If you use another defense dropping tower, like the Pyromancer, you can remove most of the enemy's defense or remove it entirely. However, do note that the Jester's defense dropping does not stack with the Toxic Gunner.
- It can also decrease up to 50% of an enemy's defense through its poisonous puddles, making it very useful against enemies with high defense.
- The Jester can be very useful at slowing down enemies because of its ice and confusion bombs, especially when used together.
- Do note that the ice bomb will make confused enemies walk slower, making them walk a shorter distance to the entrance, reducing the confusion bomb's effectiveness.
- However, as the confusion bomb has a cooldown before it can be applied again, the ice bomb can still be useful at slowing while confusion bomb is on cooldown.
- The ice bomb cannot slow down enemies that are immune to freeze, as the regular freeze immunity also prevents enemies from being slowed down by the chillness slowdown.
- However, bosses can still be slowed down by it, as long as they do not have the regular freeze immunity, as boss enemies are only affected less by the chillness slowdown.
- The confusion bomb will make enemies walk towards the entrance instead of the exit, with the distance depending on the enemy's speed. Because of this, faster enemies will be more affected by it than slower ones.
- If a confused enemy reaches the entrance, it will change directions and move towards the exit, even if currently confused. Therefore, Jesters with confusion bombs should not be placed next to the entrance, so that the confusion effect does not get wasted by this.
- Having multiple Jesters with ice or confusion bombs can be quite useful at slowing down hordes, due to the bomb's max hits of five.
- Do note that the ice bomb will make confused enemies walk slower, making them walk a shorter distance to the entrance, reducing the confusion bomb's effectiveness.
- You can use combinations such as poison and confusion bomb Jesters combined; the poison puddles will deal damage while the confusion bomb will stall enemies.
- The Jester has somewhat low range even at Level 4, so proper placement is important to effectively utilize its range.
- The Commander can help alleviate the Jester's somewhat slow firerate.
- When using multiple Level 4 Jesters, it is recommended that each Jester has varied combinations of bombs, like poison and ice bombs, to ensure they can be at their most efficient.
- The Jester may struggle against fast enemies like the Quick, Glitch or Shock because of its low range, slow firerate and ability to throw projectiles, allowing them to get out of their range quickly, at times without any damage dealt to them.
- However, multiple Jesters can be quite effective against them.
- Towers like the Electroshocker, Warden or Sledger can be useful at giving Jesters more time to hit enemies.
- Some enemies can buff enemies by leaving something on the path, like the Toxic and Super Toxic's acid puddles that heal enemies. When an enemy is confused, it could walk back towards the acid puddle, regenerating its health, meaning confusion bombs are not recommended against them.
- Ice bombs can be used as an alternative against such enemies, though as it makes enemies walk slower, they will walk on it for a longer amount of time, allowing them to heal more.
- This also allows the Cowboy or Golden Cowboy to take more shots, providing more cash.
Trivia
- Uniquely, the Jester's description is written in first-person.
- The Jester has the second cheapest Level 1 cost at
$100, shared with the Soldier and only beaten by the Scout at
$25.
