―In-Game Description

Description

Jailed Towers is a challenge map, which can be currently played in the Chess Board map. It uses a modified version of the Fallen mode as its mode. Triumphing on this map rewards the player with Gem 100, Experience 300 EXP, Time Scale Ticket 2 and two High Grade Consumable Crates. Like with other challenges, rewards can only be gotten once a week.

Changes

The main change in this challenge is that after Wave 5, random tower type will be jailed. A tower type is every specific tower, like the Brawler or Minigunner, placed down by a player. The towers that get jailed are not the same for each player. While jailed, these towers cannot be interacted with in most ways. This includes placing them down, selling them, upgrading them and using their abilities. These towers will also stop attacking enemies and will no longer summon units, with the exception of the Elf Camp and the Crook Boss. There is also a secondary change, where the wave structure of this mode is slightly altered, making it harder.

A few enemies also have their health altered:

A few enemies are also replaced:

Strategy

  • Every wave after Wave 5, a tower will be jailed, making them unable to attack enemies, generate income, provide buffs and summon units.
    • The Elf Camp and Crook Boss can spawn units, even while jailed.
    • Units do not get jailed, even if the tower that spawned them is. This makes towers like the Engineer, Military Base and Mercenary Base quite useful here.
      • Do note that no new units will spawn from these if they are jailed.
  • As one tower type is locked every wave, multiple types of towers should be placed down before the towers start getting jailed.
    • Because of this, it is recommended to focus on multiple tower types instead of a single one. If all your DPS comes from a single tower type, it being jailed puts you at risk of dying to a wave.
    • Early on, you can place down Level 0 towers as bait, like a Level 0 DJ Booth, so that they get jailed instead of your DPS towers, though do note that if you only have one reliable source of DPS, you are still at risk of having it jailed.
  • Do note that unlike regular Fallen mode, enemies spawn with the slime attribute here, allowing for Slimes to spawn. These can be quite dangerous, especially on later waves where they can turn into powerful enemies like the Tank or Summoner Boss.
  • Early on, a few enemies spawn as Tank enemies, making slow firerate and high damage towers a bit less effective here.
  • If your main DPS tower is not jailed on Wave 39, sell all copies of it and replace them on wave 40 so they are not jailed on the last wave.
  • If you are using Farm, its best that you sell it at around Wave 38 or 39 and place a Level 0 one after that.
    • This enables you to gain additional income while increasing the number of towers you can use.
  • The Gatling Gun can be very useful here, as when it gets jailed while a player is using its FPS ability, the player will still be able to attack enemies with it.
    • However, trying to use the FPS ability after it got jailed will result in it not working. The gun will visually fire, but no damage will be dealt and no ammo will be lost. Other controls like reloading are also unusable.
