Description

The Golden Pistol Goon, also referred to as Golden Pistol Crook, is a unit that can be spawned from the Golden Crook Boss from Level 0. It is an upgraded version of the Pistol Goon, with it having a faster firerate and higher health than the Pistol Goon. Like most other units, it starts from one of the entrances of the map and moves towards the exit. It can detect both hidden and flying enemies.

Whenever there is an enemy in its range, it will stop moving to attack it and all other detectable enemies in its range. It will continue walking if there are no enemies in its range for a few seconds. It has a 50 second spawnrate. It also spawns twice instead of once at Level 2+.

There is a limit of 10 Golden Pistol Goons per Golden Crook Boss. It will last 150 seconds on the map before dying.

Appearance

The Golden Pistol Goon has tan skin. It wears a yellow shirt, black vest with golden buttons, a black tie, a brown strap with a golden buckle, brown shoes, black pants and brown belt with a golden buckle. It also has a golden watch on its right arm and black shades with translucent/opaque yellow lens. It also has a prosthetic black and golden left arm, and a black and golden helmet. The Golden Pistol Goon wields a pistol to attack enemies.

Strategy

• As it spawns from the Level 0 Golden Crook Boss, the Golden Pistol Goon can be useful early on against weaker enemies like the Abnormal or Heavy.
  • While the Crook Boss itself does not have hidden or flying detection until Level 2, the Pistol Goon has it from Level 0, making it useful against hidden and flying enemies that appear early on.
• The Golden Pistol Goon deals full collision damage to enemies with defense, such as the Hefty or Heavy.
  • As it has low damage, it is also unlikely that its damage will be reduced as an enemy needs at least 100% defense to reduce it.
• On maps with multiple paths, only one/two Golden Pistol Goons spawn per Golden Crook Boss.
  • Each Golden Pistol Goon will go down a random path.
• The Golden Pistol Goon is unaffected by buffs and debuffs.
• The Golden Pistol Goon will struggle against enemies with abilities that deal damage to units because of its low health.
  • For example, the Warden will quickly kill the Golden Pistol Goon if its caught in its laser.

Trivia

• This is the third unit alongside the Pistol Goon to spawn twice at a time, the first being the Cannoneer Elf and Gunner Elf.
• The Golden Pistol Goon, alongside Pistol Goon, was the first unit to be able to detect flying enemies.
  • While the Gift Bomber can collide with most flying enemies, it cannot target them.
