- "A high-firerate tower that carries a M61 Vulcan Gatling Gun"
- ―Store Description
Description
The Golden Minigunner is a golden perk for the Minigunner, obtained from the Golden Skincrate for 50,000 if you own the Minigunner. It can also be bought in the Daily Store for 75,000, being the most expensive item purchasable in the game with coins.
Before the Golden Minigunner starts firing, it needs to rev up its M61 Vulcan. If there are no enemies in its range while revved-up, it will wait for around a second for an enemy to enter its range. If no enemy enters its range in that time, it begins to deactivate the gun and will need to rev the gun up again when an enemy enters its range. It fires bullets at enemies at a fast firerate. The Golden Minigunner has high DPS and a relatively cheap cost compared to other high DPS towers, like the Accelerator or Engineer.
The Golden Minigunner has more damage and costs more than its normal counterpart, the Minigunner, making it a direct upgrade in many ways. It does, however, have a placement limit of fifteen unlike its normal counterpart, which is not limited. It is mostly considered a mid-game to late-game tower, although it can be used in early game if you have enough base health and focus solely on using the Farm for some time.
The Golden Minigunner has a placement limit of 15 per player.

Strategy
- The Golden Minigunner should be one of the towers that are placed down the most. Place them in a large group near the front of the track if possible, or place them in an area that covers a lot of path (for example, inside corners).
- Midway through the game, several Level 1-2 Golden Minigunners are effective in wiping out hordes of enemies for an effective price.
- While this is a cost-effective way to triumph maps, this is not the best tower in terms of DPS.
- In terms of DPS and range, the Engineer, Ranger and Accelerator are far more effective. However, they are more expensive and have their own limitations, like lower placement limits.
- This tower is not affected much by the defense from enemies like the Giant Boss and Templar due to its low damage at lower levels. In most cases, the Golden Minigunner can still deal most of its damage to such enemies, or even its full damage.
- Do note that the Level 3 has 10 damage and Level 4 has 24 damage, which is high enough for most enemies to be able to decrease its damage.
- Even still, defense dropping towers like the Pyromancer are recommended to increase the damage of Golden Minigunners against certain enemies with very high defense.
- The Golden Minigunner can be effective at killing high health hidden enemies that appear in mid game or late game, such as the Possessed Armor or Soul.
- While the Golden Minigunner does not have incredibly low range, it is still lower than most other DPS towers, such as the Ranger, Engineer, Accelerator or Turret.
- The DJ Booth can be useful at boosting its rather low range.
- If you are planning to use the Golden Minigunner for early game, you need to have a high amount of base health and farm correctly to afford it. However, this is generally not recommended as it is risky.
- Alternatively, you should have teammates with cheap towers to help deal with the early game while you farm.
- You can also use the Supply Drop to help you farm more efficiently if you really want to get the Golden Minigunner down early.
- Alternatively, you should have teammates with cheap towers to help deal with the early game while you farm.
Trivia
- The Golden Minigunner, alongside its normal counterpart, the Minigunner, currently has the most skins out of any tower in the game.
- The Golden Minigunner, alongside the Golden skin you get alongside the golden perk, are the single most expensive items in the game.
- The "Fires 24K cartridges at 10,000 RPM." text in the Level 4 upgrade description is a reference to Meet the Heavy.
- The Level 4 upgrade description also mentions that it gains "Really cool armor!", which may be a reference to the Commando's Level 5 upgrade description
- The Golden Minigunner is the first golden perk to give a tower a placement limit.
