Description

The Golden Crook was a unit spawned by the Golden Crook Boss at Levels 2-3. The Golden Crook was essentially a re-skin of the Crook, as it had similar appearance and stats, but had very little in common with the Body Guard and Body Guards 1. Like other units, it started from the end of the map path and moved towards the entrance of the map. The Golden Crook had a spawnrate of 60 seconds.

Whenever there was an enemy in its range, the Golden Crook would stop moving to shoot at the enemy. It would continue walking when there were no enemies left in its range.

There was a limit of 3 units per Golden Crook Boss, limiting the amount of Golden Crooks it could spawn.

Appearance

The Golden Crook had tan skin, black pants, dark grey shoes, yellow torso with black and yellow stripes, and yellow sleeves. It had a smile face. It wore a yellow beanie. It carried a golden UZI in its right hand to shoot at enemies. Yellow sparkles came out from its UZI.

The original Golden Crook had yellow skin, black legs, yellow torso with black and yellow stripes, yellow sleeves, and a mischievous face. It wore a yellow and black striped headband. Yellow sparkles came out from its headband and a golden aura came out of its torso. It carried a golden UZI to shoot at enemies.

Strategy

  • You should not rely too much on Golden Crooks because of their slow spawnrate.
  • The Golden Crook cannot detect hidden and flying enemies, but they can still be damaged when the Golden Crook collides with them. However, this is likely unfavorable as the Crook's main source of damage is ranged.
    • The Ace Pilot cannot give the Golden Crook hidden detection.
  • On two-pathed maps, only one Golden Crook will spawn per Level 2 Golden Crook Boss. It will go down a random path.
  • The Golden Crook cannot collide with ghost enemies, like the Soul.
  • The Golden Crook will struggle against fast enemies like the Error or Glitch, as they can run into Golden Crooks without taking much damage.
  • The range of the Golden Crook can be increased by the DJ Booth, as long as the Golden Crook Boss that spawned it is in range of the DJ Booth.
    • The Golden Crook cannot be affected by any other buffs or debuffs, such as Commander's firerate buff or Ace Pilot's ability to grant hidden detection.
  • The Golden Crook will struggle against any enemy with abilities that damage units, as their health is lower than any amount of damage that these enemies deal.
    • For example, if the Fallen King uses its Stomp attack, and a Golden Crook is caught in the attack, it is instantly killed.
