Description
The Gladiator is a short-range ground tower that could have been unlocked by triumphing The Heights during the SFOTH Event.
The Gladiator attacks by swinging its sword in a 180° arc, dealing damage to up to three enemies caught in its swing. This makes it a multi-target tower. The Gladiator has a very short range, making it most useful against slow groups of enemies, such as Slows and Slow Bosses, but weak against fast enemies and those with lots of health, such as Speedy Bosses.
The Gladiator also has a unique passive ability where it can block stuns. However, this ability has a few seconds of cooldown, meaning that the Gladiator can still be stunned if it is attacked twice quickly.

Strategy
- Due to the Gladiator's attack hitting up to three enemies within a 180° arc, it can deal high amounts of damage to compact hordes of enemies.
- Since the Gladiator has a very short range, it should be placed at bends or turns on the map to make the most use of its range.
- It is recommended to place the Gladiator at points where enemies cross over more than once in order to maximize its range.
- The Gladiator's swingrate can be decreased with the Commander, helping the Gladiator attack faster.
- The Gladiator's Warrior's Call, paired with the Commander's Call to Arms, can effectively handle fast enemies, like the Shock, because of its reduced firerate.
- However, do note that the Warrior's Call ability stops the Gladiator from attacking for a few seconds when activated. This ability should be used a few seconds before enemies enter the Gladiator's range.
- The Gladiator's Warrior's Call, paired with the Commander's Call to Arms, can effectively handle fast enemies, like the Shock, because of its reduced firerate.
- Towers like the Freezer, Electroshocker or Sledger can be used to slow enemies down, giving more time for the Gladiator to attack them.
- The Gladiator's capability to hit more than one enemy makes it very efficient against groups of enemies, especially slow ones, though do note that it can only hit three enemies in one swing.
- The Gladiator struggles against fast enemies, such as the Shock and Glitch, as they will move out of the Gladiator's range very quickly.
- Additionally, singular high health enemies, like the Speedy Boss, can easily pass the Gladiator. However, a horde of slow, high health enemies, like the Slow Boss, is optimal for the Gladiator as it can hit a decent number of enemies within its range.
- If you want to deal with the fast enemies, it is best to try and group Gladiators up along the path, so enemies will be hit at many points of the path.
- The Gladiator can handle Hiddens well at Level 3+ and Shadows at Level 4+.
- Use the Warrior's Call for high health enemies or large groups of enemies.
- Because there is a delay where the Gladiator does not attack for a few seconds after activation of the ability, it may be a good idea to activate it early, though if not timed correctly, it may lead to a few seconds of the firerate boost being lost.
- Early on, the Gladiator can be very useful against Mysteries, as there is a chance that the Gladiator will hit the Mystery itself and the enemy that spawns from it.
- The Gladiator is also very useful against summoned enemies from enemies like the Necromancer.
- Try not to place the Gladiator on extremely high ground on maps like Space City, as its hitbox will not be able to hit enemies on the path.
- Uniquely, it can hit flying enemies, like the Balloon, from this position, though another detectable enemy must be in range. Even so, this is extremely rare and not recommended.
- The Gladiator has a small placement footprint, meaning that it can squeeze in beside other towers quite easily.
Trivia

Level 0 Gladiator seen farming in second and third versions of Medieval Times.
- When the game was in Alpha, the Gladiator's upgrade stats were not displayed on its upgrade description. It was simply referred to as "sans sword".
- The Gladiator could have been seen in the second and third versions of Medieval Times farming in front of a house, supposedly on vacation.
- This was due to the fact that the Gladiator was unusable between the 13th of October 2019 and the 29th of November 2019.
- Attempting to place the Gladiator resulted in the following message being displayed: "Hey! I'm on vacation, don't bother me!".
- This Easter egg was still in the game, despite the Gladiator being usable again, though it would be removed on the 4th of February 2023 when Medieval Times was remade.
- This was due to the fact that the Gladiator was unusable between the 13th of October 2019 and the 29th of November 2019.
- Prior to the 29th of November 2019, the Gladiator had two abilities: Frenzy and Sharp Edge.
- Frenzy was the original name for Warrior's Call.
- Sharp Edge increased damage by 100% for 8 seconds, having a 60-second cooldown between each use.
- Prior to the MEGA Update and the Medic's addition to the game, the Gladiator was the only tower that was able to heal base health.
- At Level 5, the Gladiator healed +1 health per kill (for base health). This was, however, removed on the 29th of November 2019.
- The Gladiator used to have four main attacks after the 29th of November 2019. Each attack was chosen at random prior to the 26th of May 2020.
- The first one was a simple Sword Slash. This hit the least number of enemies.
- The second one was a Sword Spin. This made the Gladiator spin around 360 degrees, damaging any enemies in the said area.
- The third was the Piercing Lunge, which could be unlocked at Level 4. As the name suggests, the Gladiator lunged forward to deal damage to any enemy within range.
- The fourth was the Sharp Dash, which could be unlocked at Level 5. The Gladiator quickly dashed forward, and did an attack similar to the Piercing Lunge, but it affected more enemies as the range was increased. This affected the most enemies.
- This was the first event tower to be added to the game.
- The default Gladiator's Warrior's Call ability uses the same shout as the original Commander's Call to Arms ability.
- The Pumpkin Gladiator uses Lord Sinister's Sinister Taunt laugh sound.
- When the Mega Update was released, the developer console in the lobby would have an error saying the texture for Golden Gladiator's helmet had failed to load.
- This means that it is very likely the Gladiator was originally meant to have a Golden skin.
- Upon being hit by the Gladiator, enemies will emit blood particles.
- If placed at the right time, the Gladiator's stun immunity will not work, and it will get stunned, unable to attack enemies.
- Though the Gladiator still blocks most stuns normally, a stun particle will be above its head when it is hit, even if it is unaffected by the stun.
