Description

The Firerate Debuff is a debuff applied by enemies that increases a tower's firerate. This debuff does not appear anywhere on the tower.

Mechanics

The value that the Firerate Debuff is set to is not actually what the firerate increase is. For example, the value for the Necrotic Skeleton is set as 60%, not 150%. This is because the Firerate Debuff value is actually the DPS loss if the most basic DPS equation is used. In case of a tower with 100 damage and 1 firerate, it deals 100 DPS. When the Necrotic Skeleton applies a Firerate Debuff to it, it will have its firerate increased to 2.5 (150% increase in firerate), reducing its DPS to 40 (60% DPS loss).

Because of this, firerate with the Firerate Debuff is calculated with the use of the DPS loss value as:

Original Firerate Ɨ (1 Ć· [1 - Firerate Debuff])
where Firerate Debuff is supplied in decimal form (for example, 10% is 0.1).

If the firerate increase value is used instead, it would be calculated as:

Original Firerate Ɨ (1 + Firerate Increase)
where Firerate Debuff is supplied in decimal form (for example, 10% is 0.1).

The following towers are either partially or fully not affected by the Firerate Debuff:

  • All units.
  • Firerate of secondary attacks, like the Pursuit's missiles.
    • Their main firerate can still be increased.
  • Tick of effects applied to enemies.
  • The rev-up times of various towers, like the Minigunner or Pursuit.
  • Charge-up and cooldown of various burst or burst adjacent attacks, such as the Soldier, Freezer and Accelerator.
  • Ability cooldowns.
