Description

The Fatigue Debuff is a debuff that increases a tower's firerate, making them fire slower. It is displayed on the tower itself with the icon of a ball and chain.

Mechanics

Currently, the Fatigue Debuff is calculated as:

Original Firerate + Original Firerate × (Fatigue Debuff ÷ (1 + Fatigue Debuff))
where Fatigue Debuff is the debuff supplied by the enemy in decimal form (for example, 10% is 0.1).

While it may look like the firerate of a tower with the Firerate Debuff is rounded up or down to the second decimal, this is only visual. The number can be far longer than what is displayed.

The firerate of a tower with the Firerate Bug is calculated as:

(Bugged Firerate - Firerate Bug Increase) + (Bugged Firerate - Firerate Bug Increase) × (1 + Fatigue Debuff ÷ (1 + Fatigue Debuff)) + Firerate Bug Increase
where Bugged Firerate is the firerate with the Firerate Bug.

Prior to the Entity System Update, Fatigue Debuff was calculated as:

Original Firerate × (1 + Firerate Debuff)

The firerate of a tower with the Firerate Bug was calculated as:

((Bugged Firerate - Firerate Bug Increase) × (1 + Fatigue Debuff)) + Firerate Bug Increase

The following towers are either partially or fully not affected by the Fatigue Debuff:

  • All towers that are not humanoids are immune to any debuff applied by enemies prior to the 28th of October 2023.
    • The XR500 is still affected, as the skin has a humanoid.
    • Multiple skins added starting from the 1st of April 2025 also have this immunity due to bugs.
  • All units.
  • Firerate of secondary attacks, like the Pursuit's missiles.
    • Their main firerate can still be increased.
  • Tick of effects applied to enemies.
  • The rev-up times of various towers, like the Minigunner or Pursuit
  • Charge-up and cooldown of various burst or burst adjacent attacks, such as the Soldier, Freezer and Accelerator.
  • Ability cooldowns.

Trivia

  • Towers that are immune to stuns, such as the Medic or Gatling Gun are not immune to the Fatigue Debuff.
    • However, as they are immune to being targeted by enemy abilities (except cliff units like the Ranger or cooldown based stun immunities like the Warden), they will not be targeted by debuff based attacks.
