Description
The Fallen King is the final boss of Fallen mode.
While it walks quite slowly, it has a high amount of health and multiple abilities, that allow it to summon enemies, stun towers or to make itself stronger. It is also immune to being stunned by towers like the Electroshocker and only slowed down, frozen by freezing towers like the Freezer, slowed down by the Toxic Gunner, knocked back by towers like the Brawler, confused by the Jester, damaged by the Nuke's fallout damage, slowed down by the DJ Booth or have its defense reduced.
It has four abilities. First is Commanding Lead, which makes it raise its sword forward, summoning ten Necrotic Skeletons with a 0.25 second delay between each one. The second ability, Troop Deployment, is another summoning ability, though this one makes the Fallen King raise its sword in the air, which summons multiple Fallen Heroes with a 15% chance, Possessed Armors with a 35% chance, Fallen Giants with a 15% chance and Corrupted Fallens with a 35% chance. The third ability, The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre, makes it slash its sword multiple times, stunning towers for 6 seconds and damaging units.
It also has a fourth ability, Bone Armor, is a passive ability which happens when the Fallen King loses health, making it gain defense until it reaches a defense of 60% or higher. It uses the following equation to decide if it should increase its defense:
If the result of the equation is equal or higher to how much defense it increases, that being 20, and as long as its current defense is not the same or higher as its max defense, the default health value will be changed to its the current health value used in the equation. For example, if it increases its defense while its current health is 160,000, default health will change to that number, and then its defense will be increased by 20%. Due to the equation it will gain defense after losing 20% or more of what its default health value currently is. Because of this, in Fallen mode, it will gain defense after losing at around 20%, 35% and 50% of its health in most cases. If its defense is reduced, the defense increase will also be reduced alongside it. If the defense decrease is high enough, such as 60% to 35%, making it lose defense over time. Defense also allows it to have defense higher than its regular max defense because of this interaction, as the game does not cap the defense at 60%, it only stops increasing it if its at 60% or higher.
Because of how its Bone Armor mechanic works, in Challenge Maps where the Fallen King has lower health, it will instantly gain defense due to its default health being 200,000 and its current health being for example 75,000. This would make a number larger than 20 in the equation, making it have defense instantly. In the case of it having its health increased, this is entirely dependent on the source. For example, the Bloated attribute will boost its default health value, meaning it will gain 20% more defense at 320,000 health, but the Double Health modifier will not boost it, meaning it will gain a defense boost at the same health as without it, that being 160,000 health.
Its abilities are not chosen randomly; they instead happen in a set order. The order is: The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre > Troop Deployment > Commanding Lead > The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre > Troop Deployment > The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre > Commanding Lead > The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre > Troop Deployment > The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre > Commanding Lead > Troop Deployment > The Foil, the ĆpĆ©e and the Sabre. After reaching the end of the cycle, it will start it again from the beginning.
Appearance
The Fallen King wears a silver and dark cyan armor, with cyan spikes on its shoulders as well as cyan details on its arms, torso and legs. A cyan diamond can be found in its lower torso, and it wears silver boots with small diamonds in their front. The Fallen King also wears a helmet that shows its cyan glowing eyes and a cyan crown with crystals in it. Lastly, it carries a sharp cyan sword as well as a shield, with a diamond in the middle and cyan spikes on the sides.
When defeated, the Fallen King will throw its sword on the ground and disappear in a beam of light. That animation is different upon triggering the Hidden Wave.
Strategy
- As with most major bosses, high DPS towers such as the Minigunner, Pursuit, Ranger, Turret and Accelerator are recommended to deal with the Fallen King.
- The Commander, Mercenary Base and DJ Booth can also be used to boost these towers.
- They should also be able to take care of the Fallen King's summons pretty easily.
- The Ranger and Pursuit are immune to stuns from the Fallen King's abilities, making them very useful against it.
- As the Fallen King has the Boss and Stun Immunity attribute, it cannot be shocked, stunned or frozen by most towers.
- The Freezer, Frost Blaster and Sledger can only chill the Fallen King instead of freezing it.
- The Electroshocker, Warden and Brawler also cannot stun it, and have a weaker slowing effect on it.
- However, these towers can be useful against the enemies that appear before the Fallen King.
- The Toxic Gunner cannot slow this enemy down as it is immune to its slowing effect. It can, however, be useful against the enemies that appear before it.
- The Jester cannot confuse the Fallen King, but it can slow it down with its ice bombs.
- Make sure to sell any Farms to maximize the number of towers attacking the Fallen King. They do not produce any income anymore, still count towards your tower limit, and can be replaced by a more useful tower.
- The Cowboy and Golden Cowboy can still produce income, so you can keep them if you need more cash for your towers. However, this is generally not necessary, as you will get a lot of cash from damaging enemies and the Fallen King itself.
- You can use the Medic's ability to cleanse towers from the Fallen King's stun.
- If you want to activate the Hidden Wave, it will be helpful to bring the Gatling Gun, as you can manually aim at the Fallen King to quickly kill it instead of having to set your towers to Strongest targeting.
