Description

The Executioner, also referred to as Executioner Plush, was the boss of the first act and a regular enemy in the third act of the Lunar Overture Event. It had much higher health than all enemies that appeared before it, but it was also significantly slower. The Executioner had one ability where it threw its axe at a random tower, stunning any tower hit by it. In the first act, it was a boss enemy, making it immune to being slowed down by the Toxic Gunner, immune to freezing and could only be slowed down by the Warden and Electroshocker. It had none of these immunities in the third act.

Appearance

The Executioner was a plushie version of the Level 5 Eclipse Executioner. It had a dark purple helmet with horns with blue glow inside of it, dark purple shoulder-pads, chestplate and leg padding. It had yellow button kneepads, a purple belt and a giant yellow button on its torso. It also wore purple gloves and shoes.

The Executioner wielded a large grey and red axe which it used to attack towers.

Strategy

  • Multiple lower level DPS towers, like Level 2 Minigunners, Golden Minigunners or Level 2-3 Accelerators can be very useful against the Executioner.
    • Multiple weaker towers, such as multiple Level 3-4 Golden Scouts, Level 3-4 Golden Soldier or Militants can also be quite useful.
    • Towers that cannot be stunned by the Executioner's ability, like the Pursuit, are particularly effective against it.
  • Placing down cheap towers as a distraction, such as a Scout or Golden Scout, can be very helpful by distracting the Executioner's axe from hitting your offensive towers.
    • However, this may not be viable in The Great Finale, due to limited space on this map.

Trivia

  • The Executioner's theme is a remix of the Swamp Monster's theme.
  • Weirdly, in A Dark Tale, the boss health bar of this enemy called it the Executioner Plush, despite its actual name being Executioner.
    • This is because the internal name of the Executioner is Executioner Plush.
    • However in The Great Finale the Narrator calls the Executioner an actor. This makes it unclear if the Executioner is a plush or an actor.
