Description
The Elite Abnormal is an enemy that appears on Wave 8 of Molten mode and Badlands II. It serves as the first major threat to the mode, appearing as a bulky enemy with a decent defense. It debuts in this wave as a boss in Molten mode. It is a significantly stronger version of the Abnormal, having its health increased massively while walking at the same speed.
Appearance
The Elite Abnormal, akin to the Abnormal, has a desaturated green skin color with darker green veins running through. It has a muscular body. It wears torn dark shirt with two front pockets and pants. The sleeves and pant legs of these clothes are ripped in half. It also wears greay, spiked braces with chains connected to its sides.
Strategy
- While the Elite Abnormal does not have any special attributes always applied to it like its replacement in other modes, such as the Ghoul with Health Regen and Fallen Squire with Aggro, it is faster than them while also having decent health.
- Early-game towers with decent DPS, such as the Crook Boss, Militant, Golden Cowboy or Ace Pilot can be quite effective against this.
- Later on, high DPS towers like the Minigunner, Ranger or Pursuit can kill this with ease.
- As it is quite fast, decent early-game towers with stalling capabilities like the Brawler or Electroshocker can be quite useful.
- Do note that it is significantly harder to slow down on Wave 8, as it is a Boss enemy on that wave.
- While defense dropping towers can be used to drop its defense, as it is quite low this is not necessary.

Trivia
- While the dialogue on Wave 8 properly calls it the Elite Abnormal, the voiceline for that dialogue actually calls it the Abnormal Boss.
- Considering how similar the Elite Abnormal is to the Abnormal Boss, it is likely these actually shared their names at one point.
