Eggy Island has been removed from the game as of the 26th of May 2020 as it was part of the Spring 2020 Event.
This page has been preserved for historical purposes.

Description

Eggy Island was the event map for the Spring 2020 Event. Like other event maps, it had a specialized wave structure with special enemies. This map had two difficulties, hard and easy mode, which depended on the elevator that the player chose to go into. Upon triumphing easy mode, players were rewarded with the Tower of Eggs accessory, while triumphing hard mode resulted in the Swarmer being rewarded.

Only Level 5+ players could play hard mode. Players started with Cash (Gameplay Currency)$1,800 on easy mode (Cash (Gameplay Currency)$1,900 for players in the community group) and Cash (Gameplay Currency)$1,600 on hard mode (Cash (Gameplay Currency)$1,700 for players in the community group). On easy mode, you could not choose your own towers and were only supplied with the Scout, Sniper, Commander, Pyromancer and Minigunner (tower skins, including Platinum and Golden skins, would still be applied). On hard mode, you would bring your current loadout.

You could get up to Coin 180 and Experience 25 EXP on easy mode, and Coin 270 and Experience 37 EXP on hard mode on triumph.

All modes had 100 base health, no matter how many people were in the match or their level.

Design & Path

Eggy Island took place on a medieval village island, during spring. A large castle, with scattered wagons and huts, was indicative of this. There were various trees and grass mounds scattered across the map. You could place cliff towers on the grassy mounds. A wheatfield could be seen at the end of the map. A river with two waterfalls side-by-side each other at the end of the river could be seen. At the bottom of this waterfall, some sand and palm trees could be seen. Another waterfall could be seen upstream. Ducks could be seen in the river. Additionally, eggs could be spotted around the map.
The beige cobblestone path began and ended at two caves. The path weaved around cottages and the castle, as well as crossing the river on two stone bridges.

Rewards

The game calculated how much Coin Coins, Experience EXP and Ticket Tickets you receive based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 50% more Experience EXP (08:00 UTC Friday – 08:00 UTC Sunday), any Experience EXP earned is multiplied by 1.5x.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point were rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Easy mode rewarded Ticket10-25 Tickets for every wave completed and hard mode rewarded Ticket25-50 Tickets for every wave completed.

Rewards were calculated as:

Coins Reward EXP Reward
Coin 18 Ɨ Waves Waves Completed Ɨ Experience 2.5 EXP

Badges

There were also a few badges which you could obtain when playing this map during the event, which may have additional rewards alongside the badge. These were:

Waves Structure

Any wave bonus that ended in a decimal point was rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal. In Eggy Island, the formula for calculating wave bonus on each wave was:

(Cash (Gameplay Currency)$75 - 7.5 Ɨ (Players - 1)) Ɨ Waves Completed

The waves in Eggy Island also followed these timings:

Waves Wave Timer Skip Time[1]
1-6 1:30 0:30[2]
7-8 4:00 1:20[3]
9-15 166666666666666:40 N/A

Bolded names indicates an enemy type's debut.

Strategy

Easy Mode

  • Initially, you want to have one person placing Level 0 Snipers.
  • The optimum space to place towers is near the spawn of the map.
    • However, do not place towers close to the spawn as they will likely be stunned by the Eggsplosive.
  • If Ducky D00M leaves the first island, relocate your towers to the second island.

Hard Mode

  • The Holiday Archer is recommended at the start as this map as there is a long straight, ideal for the tower.
  • Using lots of Minigunners, Turrets and Outlaws near the cottage that the path meanders around is recommended as this maximizes the range of towers.
    • The Commander, DJ Booth and John are recommended for support.
    • The Medic is also recommended as its ability can cleanse stunned towers.

Trivia

  • This was the first event map with multiple difficulties that gave different wave structures.
  • This was the first map (and event) that forced a set loadout onto players, but only on easy mode.
  • This was the first map to have a GFX icon.
  • The wheatfield near the end of the map was a direct representation of the second version of the Level 2 Default Farm.
  • This was the third event map to have a various difficulties, the first being The Heights, and the second being Area 51.
    • The aforementioned maps did not change the health of the enemies, but gave a greater wave bonus for harder difficulties, ironically making it easier.
