Description

The Dark Necromancer is a summoner enemy that appears in Fallen mode.

While the Dark Necromancer is slower than the Heavy, it has somewhat high health, more than the Abnormal Boss. Additionally, it can summon multiple enemies every few seconds, in groups of four. These enemies are the Abnormal, Quick, Heavy and Shadow. When Polluted Wasteland was in the game, the Dark Necromancer did not spawn the Heavy, and instead spawned the Radioactive.

The Dark Necromancer can be spawned from the Mystery Boss upon its death in Fallen mode.

The Dark Necromancer is replaced by the (Enemies Beta) Necromancer in any map with the Enemies Beta modifier active.

Appearance

The current version of the Dark Necromancer wears a black dominus. It has a light grey reflective skin color and is faceless. It has a black marble torso and legs, and wears a dark grey cloak with a cape and sleeves that have dark magenta rims. Its arms have navy pebble bandages. It wears grey diamond-plated shoes and has light grey chains wrapped around its torso and arms. It wields a grey summoning staff with a magenta orb on top. It walks hunchbacked and has a twisted left leg.

The first version of the Dark Necromancer had a light grey skin color and a light grey torso with darker grey legs. It had a dark navy dominus with a ripped cloak that was connected to its legs, and its head was concealed by darkness. It had grey skull shoulder-pads with glowing light red eyes. It wielded a slightly retextured version of the Zombie Staff gear.

Strategy

  • The Dark Necromancer can be a slight threat when it first appears. Towers like the Minigunner, Ace Pilot, Shotgunner and Cowboy can easily wipe out the Dark Necromancer and its summoned enemies.
    • High DPS towers like the Accelerator or Turret can also be used, though they are quite expensive to upgrade.
    • You can set these towers to target Strongest so that they will target the Dark Necromancer first, before moving onto its summoned enemies, although this is not required due to the lack of health its summons may have.
  • Crowd control towers, like the Mortar, Rocketeer, Gladiator or Electroshocker can be quite useful as they can both damage the Dark Necromancer and the enemies it summons.
  • Do note that you do not earn any money from the summoned enemies.
    • The Cowboy and Golden Cowboy can still generate cash from summoned enemies with its Cash Shot, but not by damaging them.
