Description

Cyber City is a futuristic-themed map, playable in regular survival modes and Hardcore mode. It has multiple neon buildings, towers and other decorations to give the idea and look of a futuristic city.

Cyber City was the event map for the Metaverse Champions Event. During the event, the first 10 waves of Normal mode were played, except with Giga AJ as the narrator and the last enemy being Fey Yoshida.

During the event, players started off with Cash (Gameplay Currency)$700 (or Cash (Gameplay Currency)$800 if players were in the community group). Additionally, the base health was set to 200, regardless of a player's level. Upon triumphing, you were awarded with Coin 90, Experience 10 EXP and AJ Striker's Crate Drop #4. You could not choose your own towers and were only supplied with the Scout, Sniper, Rocketeer and Minigunner (tower skins, including Golden skins, would still be applied).

Design & Path

Current version of Cyber City takes place in the middle of a futuristic city. The city contains multiple tall buildings, which have neon windows, beams coming out of their roofs, text moving on them and video panels with neon screens. The city has multiple roads and pathways for cars and civilians. The roads are black with either yellow or red lines going through them. The yellow lines are lines that enemies follow, with red lines being paths cut off from the enemies. These roads also have multiple pedestrian crossing. On the pathways, there are multiple video panels and potted plants, alongside a few red blockades preventing access to the main playable area.
The path starts at the danger tunnel and ends at the escape tunnel. It takes multiple turns, avoiding multiple of the buildings present on this map.

In the fourth version of Cyber City, there were a lot of futuristic buildings and skyscrapers around the map, as well as some grass pots that could have cliff towers placed on them. It was heavily urbanized, with various neon blue lampposts and benches also being dotted around the map. The map was surrounded by water on one side and mountainous terrain on the other side.
The path was a street, with some pedestrian crossings, that began and ended at two caves in the mountain. The path twisted and turned a fair bit around skyscrapers, which made it suitable to place ground towers just about anywhere along the path.

The third version of Cyber City was exactly identical to the second version, except with terrain water surrounding the island.

The second version of Cyber City had futuristic buildings and a skyscraper, as well as some grassy mounds to place cliff towers on. The map was on an island, completely surrounded by water. It was not too heavily urbanized, as the grass of the island was visible throughout the island.
The black stone path began at a cave and ended at the entrance of a museum-like building. The path twisted and turned a fair bit around buildings.

The original version of Cyber City had futuristic office buildings which reinforced the idea of the future. It also had grassy mounds to place cliff towers on. Event Rewards

The game calculated how much Coin Coins and Experience EXP you received based on how many waves you survived and if you won a match. During periods of 50% more Experience EXP (08:00 UTC Friday – 08:00 UTC Sunday), any Experience EXP earned was multiplied by 1.5x. The VIP gamepass also multiplied any Experience EXP earned by 1.25x.

Any rewards that end in a decimal point was rounded down, no matter the first figure of the leading decimal.

Rewards were calculated as:

Coins Reward EXP Reward
Coin 90 × (Waves/10)^1.75 Waves 1-9: Waves Completed × Experience 0.5 EXP
Waves 10: Waves Completed × Experience 1 EXP

Badges

There is also one badge which you could obtain when playing this map during the Metaverse Champions Event, which had additional rewards alongside the badge. It was:

AJ Striker - Week 4
✖ UNOBTAINABLE
Help AJ Striker defend Cyber City against a horde of enemies!

Rewards:
AJ’s Drone Swarm[2]

Event Wave Structure

In Cyber City during the Metaverse Champions Event, the formula for calculating wave bonus on each wave is:

Cash (Gameplay Currency)$180 + (Cash (Gameplay Currency)$100 × Waves Completed)

The waves in Cyber City during the Metaverse Champions Event followed these timings:

Waves Wave Timer Skip Time[3]
1-9 1:00 0:20[4]
10 12:57 N/A

Bolded names indicates an enemy type's debut.

Strategy

  • Almost all of the buildings can hold cliff towers, making this a very easy map as you can place lots of ground and cliff towers in optimal places.
  • This map is generally friendly towards ground towers, but there may be limited space if you plan to use lots of towers, especially around buildings.

Trivia

  • In the MEGA Update, this map was remade so that it was less blocky, giving it a more mid-poly look. The grass was also made darker.
    • This map was further updated in the Frost Invasion Update so that the map was more in line with the artistic style of the game.
  • One of the buildings in the map has the text "VULCORP" on it, which is a reference to the creators of the previous versions of this map.
    • Originally, this building was called "Vulperfect Inc.".
  • A translucent blue humanoid can be seen sitting on top of the VULCORP building, likely being a hologram.
    • A similar humanoid could be found on the fourth version of this map, except it was sitting on a bench.
  • Multiple texts can be seen in the sky of this map.
    • Multiple of them are just the text "CYBER CITY" on a colorful background.
    • On one of the buildings, the text "LORD EXO DEAL WITH HIM" can be seen in purple.
    • On one of the buildings, the text "JOY || HAPPINESS || YOU CAN BUY IT" can be seen in red.
    • On the entrance, "|DANGER|" can be seen in red.
    • On the exit, "ESCAPE HERE" can be seen in white.
  • Two giant moving eyeballs can be seen in the sky above the center part of the map, watching it.
  • On the fourth version of this map, the tallest building on this map (a spire) had icons for the Sniper, Scout, Soldier and Shotgunner.
    • As this map dates back to the Frost Invasion Update and all of those towers have since received redesigns, all the icons were outdated.
  • The Refund Center used the fourth version of this map for the exterior, though it is modified as the Refund Center itself does not exist on the actual map.
    • It is specifically located at the last clearing, though to make room for it, the trees and walls located there were removed.
    • While the fourth version did not have a building in that location, the current version of the map actually does.
  • The Vigilante skins are the vigilantes of Cyber City, based on the description of the Vigilante Skincrate.
