Description

The Corpse is an enemy that only appears when spawned through the Corpse attribute. Uniquely, its statistics are actually heavily based on the enemy that summoned it, instead of having its own statistics, though it does have some statistics that do not change. This is because the Corpse is not its own enemy, it is actually the enemy it spawned from with a changed display name and altered statistics. Most notably, it has 100% defense, and it has the Corpse, Stun Immunity and Burn Immunity attributes. Its health is 75% of the enemy that it spawned from. Additionally, some of the attributes the enemy it spawned from are also inherited. The only exception to this is Hidden, which is removed upon the enemy's death.

Appearance

The Corpse does not have a consistent appearance, as the model it uses it based on the enemy it spawned from, though it does have certain characteristics which are consistent between them all. The Corpse is the body of the enemy it spawned from made entirely out of black molten rocks. Any images present on the enemy, such as faces, will remain on them even as a Corpse.

Strategy

  • The Corpse is not a threatening enemy, as it cannot move to the entrance, meaning losing to it is impossible. Its main purpose is acting as a shield for enemies behind it.
    • However, it can be relatively annoying with its 100% defense and tendency to distract towers from attacking actual enemies.
    • Towers like the Electroshocker or Toxic Gunner can be used to drop its defense, as it is very high. The Pyromancer cannot be used since it has Burn Immunity.
    • Towers like the Ranger or Mortar can be used to take care of any corpses that's too far away from your main defenses with their high range.
  • The Corpse is required to be killed before a match can end.
    • Waves can be skipped while only Corpses are on the path, as that still grants the wave clear bonus. Additionally, infinite waves cannot be skipped at all.
      • If you have the DJ Booth, you can exploit this by repeatedly using its Drop The Beat ability on Green track to make as much cash as you want.

Trivia

  • The Corpse is not actually its own enemy, it is actually just the enemy it spawned which has been revived and had its statistics altered.
    • A Corpse of an enemy still keeps the ability of said enemy.
      • This can lead to weird things happening, for example, a Corpse of a Templar will be able to move after using its Heartfelt Laser ability.
      • This makes the Corpse technically have the most amount of abilities in game.
  • The Corpse has one of the highest amount of base defense out of any enemy at 100%, alongside the Reaver, Bulwark, Vindicator, Packed Ice (Krampus Frosthold) and Packed Ice (Operation I.C.E).
    • It does not, however, have the highest amount of defense possible, as that would be the Fallen Giant in the Juggernaut challenge, where it has 110% defense.
  • The Corpse is quite similar and likely inspired from the Petrified, a Tower Battles enemy.
