Sandbox Only Content

Cold Mist (Frost Invasion) was previously removed from the game on the 4th of December 2021 as it was part of the Frost Invasion Event, though it has been made available through the Sandbox mode.
It is not accessible anywhere else in the game, aside from in Sandbox Mode. This page will attempt to include information about both the version before removal and its re-added version.

Description

The Cold Mist was an enemy that appeared exclusively in Outpost 32 as part of the Frost Invasion Event. Currently, it can be spawned in Sandbox mode. Compared to the Snowy, the Cold Mist had slightly higher health with slower speed. However, the Cold Mist's was a hidden and ghost enemy, meaning that only certain towers could target and damage it, making it a potential danger early on.

Upon its death, the Frost Mystery had a chance to spawn the Cold Mist.

Appearance

The Cold Mist's entire body is black and translucent. It is faceless and blue smoke particles were emitted from its torso. The Cold Mist floats a small distance above the path. Its head is slightly tilted downwards.

Event Strategy

Strategy listed here was made for the Frost Invasion Event.

  • The Military Base is useless against the Cold Mist, as its units will go right through them, as the Cold Mist is a ghost enemy.
    • For the same reason, the Crook Boss' units cannot collide with nor detect the Cold Mist, also making them useless.
  • Level 2 Minigunners are your best bet against the Cold Mist, as they perform very well against it.
    • You can also use the Accelerator since it has hidden detection from Level 0.
    • The Crook Boss also fares decently well against the Cold Mist, though its range is not optimal.
  • It is generally advised that multiple players save for the Minigunner starting from the beginning of the game, to ensure sufficient DPS against the Cold Mist once it debuts.
  • The Pyromancer is close to useless against the Cold Mist, as it cannot target them.
    • However, its flames can still damage the Cold Mist, so long there is another detectable enemy in range.
  • Later on during the match, you can use a Level 4 Ace Pilot to grant hidden detection to other towers that cannot detect Cold Mists, like the Ranger.
    • However, the Ace Pilot will only grant hidden detection for 15 seconds at the start of the match, making this fairly unreliable.
  • While most splash damage towers do not have hidden detection, such as the Rocketeer and Mortar, if another detectable enemy is nearby, the Cold Mist may be indirectly damaged if caught in the explosion.
