Description
The Children of Exo are the main villains of the Hexscape Event and Operation I.C.E Event and possibly overarching antagonists of the Tower Defense Simulator storyline.
They are a very devoted cult as well as a mysterious and ruthless terrorist organization which seems to follow and worship the enigmatic Lord Exo, as indicated in their name.
Their goal is to free Lord Exo from his prison realm, trying to obtain as many God Cube shards as they can to do so, although the continuation of their plan if they succeed remains unknown. They are in direct conflict with T.D.S. Organizationāthe protagonists of the game.
Members
We are shown four main members who recur throughout the story: Titus, also referred to as "Maximus", Sentinel Ramiel, and two other unnamed cultists. In Failed Gateway, they also are shown to be in control of an army of pawns. It is very likely that more members comprise the ranks of the cult.
The Children of Exo are shown to share association with extradimensional beings, such as the Frost Spirit and its army. However, the extent of the cult's relationship with the Frost Spirit is unclear.
Titus
Titus is the main cultist for the Hexscape Event, appearing as the boss in the first night, and a mini-boss in the third. His mechanical arm is his most defining feature, he can use it revitalize himself by shooting out a life-sucking beam from it. He is shown to be quite strong and is capable of commanding armies, as he is the one who was sending enemies at the player in Failed Gateway.
After being defeated at the end of Failed Gateway, Titus was sucked into The Nightmare Realm via the portal. At some point within The Nightmare Realm, Titus encounters, and is corrupted by a God Cube fragment. This transforms him into Corrupted Titus, where he returns in Containment to attack the T.D.S agents. It is likely that he was killed in action after this encounter.
Sentinel Ramiel
Sentinel Ramiel is another member of the Children of Exo. He shares a stocky build similar to Titus, minus the cybernetic enhancements, though. Ramiel's first appearance was during Failed Gateway, where he worked with his fellow cultists to open a portal to Lord Exo's prison. Ramiel was not able to guarantee a secure portal connection, which led to it opening to The Nightmare Realm instead of the prison realm. Ramiel fled the scene with his fellow cultists before Titus's battle against T.D.S.
In Operation I.C.E, Ramiel was revealed to be a spy, posing as a janitor within Outpost 32. When it was time to initiate the cult's master plan, the T.D.S. agents returning from the Pls Donate event were rerouted to the outpost by the Children of Exo. After this, Ramiel, inside the outpost, ditched his disguise and breached the portal control room, overriding the portal's connection to the Frost Realm. After T.D.S. triumphs against the Frost Spirit's army, Ramiel escapes being held at gunpoint by Professor V.
Unnamed Cultists
There are two other cultists shown that are not named. The first cultist wears a dark red cloak and conceals his face with a mask. The second cultist wears a purple crosshair chestplate and has a gatling gun for his right arm. The two cultists first appeared during Failed Gateway, being present as Sentinel Ramiel worked to open the portal. They fled the scene not long after T.D.S. caught wind of their doings.
The two cultists later appeared in Operation I.C.E, journeying into the Frost Realm to free the Frost Spirit of his bindings using a staff powered by a God Cube fragment stolen from the Primordial Drakobloxxer.
Story
In the Hexscape Event, the Children of Exo are attempting to open a portal to Lord Exo's prison, but they are detected by T.D.S. Titus decides to stall for time by fighting the T.D.S. agents so the portal can finish activation. When Titus is defeated, the portal finishes its activation, sucking him and the agents into The Nightmare Realm.
While not shown on screen, the other cultists also entered the dimension. The foreign presence inside the realm angers the Conserver, causing him to attack the T.D.S. Agents. Within the realm, Titus discovers a God Cube shard and empowers himself with it. While T.D.S. fights off the hordes of enemies in Containment, Titus returns as Corrupted Titus and then is defeated. After the Primordial Drakobloxxer is vanquished, the Children of Exo swoop in at the last second to take the God Cube fragment it hosted. They escaped back through the portal.
In the Operation I.C.E Event, Sentinel Ramiel enters Outpost 32 disguised as a janitor, later entering a control room so that he can open a portal to the Frost Realm. After opening it, the Frost army begins invading the outpost. Near the end of the invasion, the Children of Exo unleash the Frost Spirit to attack Outpost 32. After the Frost Spirit is defeated, Sentinel Ramiel escapes Outpost 32.
