Description
The Abnormal Boss is a large enemy that is the first (non-major) boss to appear in Legacy Fallen mode and Golden mode, alongside a few challenges. The Abnormal Boss is slightly faster than the Heavy.
Appearance
The current version of the Abnormal Boss has a reflective light green skin color and a black diamond-plated torso and legs. It has one pair of grey chains wrapped around its left arm, three pairs around its right arm and a pair wrapped around its torso. The Abnormal Boss's face has two scars, which forms an "X" on its face.
The Enemies Beta version of the Abnormal Boss is a humanoid with a waist in its rig. It has a dark green skin color and a dark greyish-blue torso and legs. Veins can be seen on its arms and head and it has no face. It also wears black armbands with grey spikes on them.
The second version of the Abnormal Boss had a reflective light green skin color and a magenta granite torso and legs. It had one pair of grey chains wrapped around its left arm, three pairs around its right arm and a pair wrapped around its torso. It also had a drooling zombie face with glowing magenta eyes.
The first version of Abnormal Boss had a salmon skin color, a brown pebble torso with tumors and darker brown pebble legs. It also had a drooling zombie face with glowing red eyes.
Strategy
- The Abnormal Boss has much higher health than the enemies that make their debut before it, along with defense. Thus, it is recommended to invest in additional defense before its debut.
- Most towers that have a sizeable DPS can deal with the Abnormal Boss quite effectively.
- Almost any tower catered towards early game, like the Ace Pilot, Gladiator, Golden Scout, Militant or Golden Crook Boss is recommended.
- Stronger towers like the Brawler, Minigunner or Golden Minigunner can fare pretty well if you are able to afford them.
- Later on, towers that can deal damage to multiple enemies can also be effective against Abnormal Bosses as they will spawn more frequently. Such towers include the Demoman, Executioner, Mortar and Shotgunner.
- Splash damage also ignores defense, making splash damage towers even more effective.
- The Military Base's units deal full collision damage to enemies with defense, making multiple Level 2 Military Bases very effective against this enemy.
- Early game towers with defense dropping, like the Cryomancer, Frost Blaster or Pyromancer can be useful at both killing the Abnormal Boss and decreasing its defense.
- Decreasing its defense is not required however, as the Abnormal Boss has a negligible amount of defense.
- Multiple such towers, like the Toxic Gunner, Freezer or Frost Blaster can also be used to slow it down.
